Ok, you're going to have to help me here.....

NOWHERE in that article did I read the author claiming either "The world's biggest human rights violator is United States" or that "The cause of most of the world's human rights violations is the United States", which were the statement I was trying to get fantom to support. Perhaps you can point me to where it says that.

All posting that article does is prove my point the you in the Right-wing want to hide any fact that doesn't make white men look like superheroes.

Neither do I, which I why I asked you to justify, clarify and support that wild accusation, which, as far as I can tell, you just pulled out of your ass.

If you don't "GAS" if you are believed, then why waste all of our time bloviating your opinion?

The quotes that I gave to you were made in response to your defense of schools being unbiased and not propagandizing.

They were the answers to the first two questions on a high school test. I'd say your over the top statement about well balanced and facts only schools has been refuted.

To appropriately respond, I'm going to need far more context than you provide in your clearly one-sided recount of the exchange. When was this? Where was this? What class was it? What were the questions asked? And what were the exact answers given by the teacher?

All that matters quite a bit. For example, in the early 1800s, most of the developed world outlawed slavery, with the US being the last hold out. So, at the time, the US *was* the biggest human rights violator.

Do you believe this?

Of course not. Heck, you could fill the Top 10 "biggest human rights violators" without leaving Africa.

But, among Developed Democracies, we rate quite high.

Hooray for that. I wish more people felt that way. I'm sure that many do but their honest, reasoned, heart-felt opinions get stifled by the libby crap that dominates schools and the media.

The problem is that "their honest, reasoned, heart-felt opinions" is really just their biased, uninformed, narrow-minded worldview. The point of school is to learn something beyond that. Not opinions, but actual facts.

All this woke crap they spend all their time pushing down the throats of kids is why kids can't read, can't do math, can't write and have no sense of history. It was my understanding that these subjects where the main reason kids where to go to school. If it's changed, then I see no reason to send kids to school. We don't want them brainwashed and they aren't learning basics. Therefore, it may be time to pull them from a worthless institution that used to be called schools.

But, the problem is....all this "woke crap" is known as "actual history".

It's stunning that the side so worried about the "indoctrination" of their children is the side that's banning books and outlawing the teaching of subjects. Limiting the information available is EXACTLY how you indoctrinate someone --- which is why the right always says never to watch CNN or MSNBC or read the NYTimes or the Washington Post --- because you might hear something besides the right-wing propaganda and learn something.

That's pure BS lies, it has been much hotter in the far past than it is now and it has also been much colder in the past than it has since when have been recording temps. This earth has experienced at LEAST 4-5 ices ages and warming stages and this is no different. It's always the fascists climate cultist pushing this BS that this is caused man, just pure BS to take control over the masses. Again, only fascist pigs who call other "deniers", they do that to shut down speech.

But it's changed from nearly the coldest it's ever been, to nearly the hottest it's ever been in 150 years, not the 100,000 years it took in the past. As I said, that is the ENTIRE POINT. That's the proof it's cause by humans; that's the reason it's a problem.

No, it is SUBSTANIALLY different than the past changes in climate. That's the ENTIRE point of the debate. THAT is why we call you "deniers".

And yes, it is fascist to demonize somebody by classifying them as a “denier” to shut the conversation down
No, it is factually accurate to call people "deniers" when they deny well-establish factual information.

However, it is fascist to demonize somebody by calling them "moronic" to shut the conversation down --- which you do regularly.

Why is it that it is always the cult morons that classify those that have a different view of issues as “deniers”? That’s a tactic of a fascist.

I beg to differ about the temperature. Orange Beach in Alabama used to grow oranges. So did most of Florida. Now oranges cannot be grown that far north due to colder temps. So I'm confused about higher temperatures. Also ocean rising. I have actually studied aerial photos of islands in the Pacific ocean and they have not shrunk AT ALL!! I agree the climate is changing. Just like it has since records began.

The name of Orange Beach was just for marketing. I could find no word of successful attempts to grow oranges there. https://www.rbfishingcharters.com/gulf-shores-orange-beach-fun-facts/ (Item #6)

The reason why orange can't be grown is Florida is not because it's "colder" (in general), but because the weather is less predictable. The (slight) rise in the overall temperature is completely disrupting the weather patterns we've come to rely on for the past centuries. So now we may see an early spring (starting the growing season), followed by a sudden frost, killing the plants that just started growing.

um... Could you please point out where in that link you posted it shows ANYTHING that I said was wrong?

I said he got a degree in physics 50 years ago and hasn't worked in the field since. That page shows that he got a degree in physics 50 years ago and hasn't worked in the field since.

I said he works in marketing; that page says he works in the "corporate office" of Eurochannel (A TV station).

I originally got my information from his LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-catt-05872/

And I do not "believe anything the government will tell you". *I* believe in the collective wisdom of experts in the field, who universally agree on human-caused climate change. *YOU* however, will believe anyone who confirms what you want to believe (and falsely elevate that person to "Expert" regardless of their qualifications)

Also, here's another article correcting that guy: https://www.lse.ac.uk/granthaminstitute/news/countering-bogus-climate-claims-made-on-british-television/

Your statement "(Apparently, this was the only school where the parents complained)." This is blatantly false and misleading.
I was quite specifically (and obviously) referring to this particular survey assigned by the Boston School district.

Also, it does not surprise me that you would claim to know that 90% of sixth and seventh graders are familiar with oral sex. You provided no credible data to support this and your strong assurance of your knowledge sounds like this is based on personal experience or countless in depth conversations with hordes of children on the subject.

I know this from having once been a 6th and a 7th grader (in the 1970s!). And I do like to keep up on current trends, because you know, I'm intelligent, and like to understand the world as it actually is, and not live in a fantasy bubble like most of the conservatives here.

The guy doesn't know what he's talking about

https://factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.32GX2YQ
Quote:
"He doesn't have any qualifications or a scientific publication record in this area and he's essentially rejecting the expert conclusion of every credible scientific organisation around the world,"

Calling him a "Physicist" is a bit of a stretch. He got his undergraduate degree in physics 50 years ago, but has, apparently, never worked in the field. For the last 35 years, at least, he's worked in marketing.

Basically, during the last 10,000 years, we were very slowly getting colder, as we move towards the next ice age (at least 1500 years in the future), reaching the coldest it's been in the time frame about 1850. Then over the next 170 years, the temperature very dramatically shot up, now reaching near the hottest it's been in the last 10,000 years. So, while what he said might be technically true, it's very definitely (and deliberately) misleading.

It's glaringly apparent that the lefty weasels who support the teachers have not commented.

Comment from a lefty....

First of all, it's not about supporting the "teachers" (who you throw under the bus), but actually, the school district which assigned the survey. (Apparently, this was the only school where the parents complained).

Also, note that this is a PUBLIC SCHOOL. Public schools are paid for by the taxpayer with the goal of creating adults with the knowledge to be good functioning citizens of the society. They are NOT intended to cater to the parents' own prejudices or beliefs (That's what we have private schools for).

And I can assure you that 90% of 6th & 7th graders know what oral sex is. And many have considered suicide. And some are questioning their sexuality. And, while parents may want to delude themselves into thinking this can't be their children --- that is exactly how we get teen suicide & teen pregnancies.

And the first step to dealing with the problem, is to identify it.

Typical nonsense from Ben Shapiro

Funny how he COMPLETELY absolves the banks from any fault in this and blames it all on Biden.

The key line in that article is this:
Quote:
the federal government created a carousel of easy cash; investors thought the carousel would never stop; it stopped.

Shapiro glosses over here that the "investors" are the banks that failed --- and that "thinking the carousel would never stop" is pretty much the definition of being an incompetent banker. It's basically the first thing they teach you in banker school: Government payouts stop!

He also notes that
Quote:
from 2020 to 2022, the federal government injected more liquidity into the American economy than at any time in history, bar none;
while ignoring that most of that was in 2020 -- under Trump. (but he blames Biden anyway).

So, Shapiro claims it's all Biden's fault because (a) he gave away a lot of money (even though it was mostly Trump) AND because (b) Biden STOPPED giving away a lot of money. So, which is it Ben, should we give away money or not?
