Thanks for the kind remarks.
Please look at the downloads. The colors on the post are not as vibrant as the downloads, at least on my computer.
I love getting orioles (or any bird for that matter) in flight.
The short-eared owls are back in our area. Wayne County, Ohio, 2023.
Thank you. We have lots of red-tailed hawks around right now.
This red-tailed hawk worked its way up the tree from branch to branch. I especially liked this landing.
Golden-crowned kinglets flit around so quickly that it is difficult to get a picture. Here are a few that I was able to get.
A couple of days ago I came across this gray morph eastern screech owl in an abandon pileated woodpecker nest hole. I have been watching this nest hole for several weeks because I saw the fresh scratch marks on the right of the hole. It wasn't until a couple of days ago though till I saw the owl. These pictures were edited in Lightroom, DxO Pure Raw, and Topaz Gigapixel to upscale the cropped images.

Numbers two and five are the best. Great captures! Perhaps a little more dramatic with some cropping?
Is this what you had in mind by cropping more? I used Topaz Gigapixel AI to gain some resolution.
The short-eared owls in our area are not at all cooperative with respect to coming out in good light or any light for that matter. This owl only seems to come out at 5:15 or later in our area of northeast Ohio. I am using a Nikon D500, Nikkor 200-500 lens, f/5.6, 1/15 second, autoISO (2200-4500). It was so dark that I couldn't tell whether its head was turned toward me or away at times.
Thank you to all who have looked at my photos and commented.
We have kept our feeder up hoping to attract a rufous hummingbird. On November 10 a hummingbird came to the feeder. It wasn't a rufous. At first we thought that perhaps it was a female black-chinned, but after several hummingbird experts looked at pictures of it, we found out it was "just" a female ruby-throated. They are supposed to be long gone by now. Well, here it is 14 days later and she is still here.
Excellent pics, Jack!! The first one is truly outstanding!!
