I watch "The Backyard Scientist" on YouTube occasionally. He's a college student in FL who does ridiculous experiments in his backyard. He usually wears shorts and a short-sleeve shirt for somewhat dangerous experiments. I don't know how he can get away with all the smoke and noise he makes in his neighborhood.

Anyway, he played around with lithium batteries in one video. While taking one apart, it exploded into flames. He got another explosion later in the video. This isn't a little smoldering and smoking. It's explosive flames. I hope someone develops a powerful safe battery soon.

I live in Illinois and we are following Californias lead. Our wonderful corrupt Democrat leaders also are favoring heavily those who break the laws over those who follow the laws. The research they must have done shows they will gain more votes changing laws to make criminals their base voters. People are moving out in record numbers and those in charge wonder why.

First shot sore arm, second shot sore arm slight headache and felt a little worn out for 1 day. Well worth getting both vaccinations for me. I heard all the hype of bad news in the media about the shots, but I felt it was just the media being the media looking for the worst in everything and trying to create controversy.

The Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 killed 675,000 Americans alone. Not including the rest of the world. The H1N1 Flu of 2009, killed 284;000 people. We also had SARS and Ebola. Ebola was primarily an African Continent problem. Let's just hope that the Coronavirus does not become a 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic. Or the 2009 H1N1 Flu. The 18 elderly that died in a rest home in America was shocking. I believe this Coronavirus will pass, just as the previous respiratory diseases became. And, after this passes. The WHO and the CDC, should be better prepared, to cope with the next global respiratory diseases, that become global. Whenever it comes?. Students from the USA, studying in Italy, have been recalled back home immediately. A first time adventure that soon ended for them. A store manager, told me yesterday, that her trip to Venice, Italy has to be postponed. No refunds, but you have one year to reschedule the trip. Better later, than never. Best defense is washing your hands regularly. And, don't touch your mouth and nose.

Does anybody else feel the news media is way out of control on this, yes we must be concerned but they are creating mass panic. You can’t trust what they report anymore as being totally true. Sad that they can sway people’s thinking by what and the way they report the news. Doomsday media is causing many problems in many areas in the US.

All those places are filled with liberal democrats. They got what they voted for.

Amen so very true. Along with the murders you get corruption, unbelievable debt and politicians who only care about filling their pockets with cash instead of representing the people. Only way to change them is to vote them out of office and they can collect their 6 figure pensions for the rest of their life. Democrats corruption at its best!!

Just another example of how things are going in the US today, equal rewards for those who choose not to work hard to get ahead and for those with the gumption to work hard and better themselves. Seemslike a political party is out to give things away and promote not working just for votes. Many people are just happy to get what they can get and live off the government than go to work and better themselves and support themselves and their families. We could talk all day about these things but our time would be better spent promoting those who work hard to get ahead and are successful!!

Welcome to 2018 many people want to make $100,000 but not work for it. When the government handouts exceed minimum wage it encourages people not to work. No pride now a days just show me the money for being irresponsible. Stop the free government handouts for those physically able to work and things might change.

When they were first introduced, I avoided self-service cash checkouts because I thought they were taking jobs from people. I know someone who works in retail, and these DIY stations are not putting people out of work. In his store, it's not unusual for half a dozen people to just not show up for work. Maybe they will call and say they're coming in, but generally, they just don't show up. One day last week, there was only one person available to work a register. Without the DIY stations, they would have had a major problem. The store is paying a decent salary, well above the minimum. People don't show up, or they take extended breaks and lunches. This behavior covers all age ranges, from young to old. I can't understand it. I was in a supermarket last week, and only one register was open. A manager said that five people had called in "sick."

When I was in high school, I worked in a supermarket, and people showed up on time and did their work. We could count on each other to keep things flowing smoothly. So, don't turn your nose up at these self-service checkouts. They exist for your convenience.

Sorry to say you can’t trust news sources now all they care about is getting viewers at all cost. Lies, sensationalizing, making things up etc, they have their own agendas. Unfortunately many people believe what is reported and have no means to see if news stories are factual. Newspaper sales are way down so you have to do whatever is needed to keep the doors open. The public only likes to hear about bad news and the media loves that

Just another example of how our elected officials are wasting time on stupid things instead of fixing our countries problems. What is more important tide pods or fixing healthcare, the debt, budget, crime etc. time to elect non politicians and stop special interest groups, campaign contributions and enact term limits!!!
