My 19 year old grand daughter just bought a 3 bed room 1 1/2 bath house on a basement with attached 1 car garage
She started working at 15. At 16 she was opening a gas station and then going to high school. She paid cash for her first car at age 17. When the pandmic hit and shut down school her reaction was to ask for more hours at the gas station. She graduated from high school at 17 and started working two 30 hour / week jobs because she was too young to work full time.
At 18 she started working at places that paid more and offered full time. She was promoted at both places. One place is 40/ week the other is 20 hours. Now that she has the house she can cut back on hours at the part time job. She has enough money in the bank to buy a new furnace if required.

She did this all with her own money. She has been saving since she was in grade school.
I just hope that the economy does not do her in
