Also easy to set up a Paypal account, and it's free.

Do you have a Paypal account? That's how I do such transactions. It's been a while since I last did one on this site (I believe I did four of them over the past few years), so I'll have to refresh myself on the process, but using Paypal protects both the buyer and seller, and is the preferred way to do such business.

Wow, you're still up! I was about to hit the sack because it's past 1 am here in CA. I was thinking half the price of the new 90D that's being released this month, and is the supposed successor to the 7D Mark II. I already have this model going on four years, and I was going to make it my backup to the 90D, but if the price is right, I'll go with those two bodies, and eventually do a complete switch to mirrorless (probably Olympus or Fuji) in a few years. The asking price for the 90D is $1,200, so $600 would be a good price for the 7D Mark II body.

This thread is over a year old, but on the off chance that the body is still available, what are you asking for?

amphoto1: The spring (on the right side of the camera when holding the camera to take a shot) is apparently stuck. I could see that after looking at my 5Ti's hotshoe where I noticed that the spring was sticking up. That explains why the camera thinks a flash is attached when there is none on the hotshoe. I tried releasing it with cleaner but it didn't work. I don't have a lubricant to try. I also don't have access to a jeweler's screwdriver, so I guess I'll have to wait until after the trip to try to fix it. Thanks for the insight into my problem.

DWU2: Thanks for the Google tip. One response explained the situation very clearly.

Used it the first night on a safari in the Pantanal with no problems, but now it will not pop up. I get the message "Menu not available. Flash is off or unsupported, or an accessory is attached."

I can use a flash attachment (I brought a macro flash kit) and it fires, so the hot shoe works. For some reason, the camera thinks a flash accessory is still in the hot shoe, so the pop-up won't activate. I forced open the pop-up flash, and I still get that message.

I can't call Canon support from Brazil, so any ideas would be appreciated.

Got a good price on a new T5i that I'll use as a backup, and for photos (non-BIF) that don't require the tracking ability of my 7D Mark II that is my workhorse.

Of course, the catch is this baby got some salt water intrusion due to a leaky underwater housing. I sent the camera to the regional Canon repair facility for an estimate, and got back a written estimate on 8-1-16, stating that the main circuit board needed replacement for $498.97 ("estimate may be updated if additional parts are required for repair"). I requested that they return the camera, and I received it back this week. If you are technically savvy to take apart this camera to either replace the board or scavenge parts, this could be a bargain. Photos attached. The LCD is not discolored -- it is the result of reflections. I will cover shipping within CONUS. Eyepiece extender is included, and if the original strap is wanted, that also.

I already had this great lens (http://www.kenrockwell.com/canon/lenses/18-55mm-stm.htm, among other reviews) from another kit purchase, so you can have it for $85. Rock bottom price, so shipping is not included. Add $10, and if it's more within CONUS, I'll cover the difference. I live in Concord, CA. My email address is:

pyrus321@yahoo.com

I've sold two other items through UHH, and have an umblemished sales record.

Alan,

Thanks for the very detailed and helpful explanation of IS. I'll add that to my Canon info folder.

I also have a 7DII, and have custom settings for shooting from moving vehicles, BIF, and night time photography. I'll keep your custom settings just in case I do sports shots.

This custom kit not only includes the camera and lens, but also includes FIVE batteries, lens hood, lens cap, battery charger and cord, instruction manual, Hoya Pro 1 UV filter, Hoya circular polarizing filter, and original boxes.

My detailed photos show that both the camera and lens are in excellent condition. The Tamron zoom lens has always been protected by filters, so it is in pristine shape with no scratches. The view finder and LCD screen of my T4i are likewise blemish free. Be wary of other ads that do not show detailed images of what's being sold. Perhaps they don't want you to know the true, unbiased condition of their sale items.

The shutter count as of this ad's placement is 34,744. Although Canon does not officially give a shutter actuation life for the Rebel series, the typically agreed-to number for similar camera shutter mechanisms is 100,000, so there is still a lot of mileage left in this camera.

My price for this kit is only $495, and I pay for shipping within the 48 states.

If you would like to purchase either item separately, the individual costs are:

T4i: $335
Tamron lens: $225

Go to eBay and Adorama to compare their used equipment prices that are in excellent condition, and you will see that my prices are significantly lower.

I only accept purchases thru PayPal. You need not be a member of PayPal to do this transaction. Also, if you pick up in person, I will accept a cash payment. You can contact me at: pyrus321@yahoo.com
