Why would a photographer go to the trouble of shooting two pictures with two
different quality cameras and then asking NON-photographers which ones they
liked better? To "like better" a non-photographer is not able to distinguish which
one actually is better....what a waste of time!

He certainly is cute. But, is it a he or a she?

Just kept staring at this, it really holds my attention. It may have been a "quick shot"
but looks like a serious portrait. He/she seems to be telling us this is an honest
bunny, that he/she never stole, hoarded, and colored chicken eggs or hid any in the
yard. At first, the simplicity of the shot had me thinking something was missing, but
then realized it is an honest denial of any sort of monkey-business thought to be
bunny-behavior. How can a simple straightforward shot such as this provoke so
much thought ?

Well you certainly have some heavily defined clouds there, no doubt as to their "intention".
But.....monsoon? Uh, do you actually have "weather" there, other than searing sun and heat?
We don't have weather like that here, the rain record for this month.... so far... is 0.00 with
no promises on the horizon.

I was meaning the range where the large ones occur, e.g. Costa Rica only?

Amazing! What is the range of any of them this size? I do think, though you mentioned it would be difficult to judge
their size from the pictures, that actually it is shown very well against the twigs they're on.

Oh those street lights will throw us for a loop Joe. You note what people say, it's so true that our minds compensate for what
we see in a short time. If you are outside and enter a place with fluorescent lights you initially notice a color shift, but you adjust
to it very shortly. I see some lights on a building that seem to be bluish, the shadows on snow seem to be an ugly brown, and it
is so far from natural there is no compensation going on at all. Mixed light is the worst to deal with, just try to avoid it or it's a
post processing job. As for remedies to all this, don't know what WB you used on that magenta-tinted pic. or what color temp
the light was. Best advice I think to anyone is to experiment as there is more than one sort of artificial light out there. You
have several ways to set a WB including custom settings.

I agree. All he would have had to do was ignore me and I would catch on. I honestly do not try to hurt people's feelings even in The Attic. He certainly has a right to his opinions. I wonder though why I am not entitled to voice mine to him. He might learn something. I learn things here even from the Left sometimes. It is called discussing things. We may not agree but might see the other's point of view. I hope he is in a nice safe place where his little feelings won't be hurt and he won't have to cling to his pillow at night calling for mommy.

Look in the rules, seems like there is a way to approach him if you want to work it out between
the two of you. It might be worth looking into then ?

Your work has always been special Joe, way back to when you posted one of the most memorable photos on the
forum. This set is no exception to your special and unique view. Truly, the very first one gave me a bit of a shock
in its heavy leaning on the magenta tone, but it's not always easy to see that in these long summer days when the
light changes, the light also in the space where you transfer to computer and begin to view your captures. Thank
you for showing a very special set of views from Pittsburgh.

You can make any # of copies of your original JPEG without harm to the original, work on those copies, and never
need to degrade your original.

Now here's a little bit of a different idea...a nice zoom lens.... in the range you want, that you do not take off on a trip but will be
useful even afterwards when you get back, that is on an ILC where you just don't take it off for the trip ?

Really great B&W work Bob! Got the black and got the white, the whole
gray scale conquered. Reminds me of rocks here too. Nice to see your
topic here where you can get the wide recognition you deserve. Thought
you might have been broiled by the Az. sun by now....glad to see you survive!
