I truly like B&H but I buy more from other sources. There is nothing wrong with B&H except their use of Fed-Up. They are one of the worst delivery services in my neck of the woods. If the package gets delivered at all I have to go hunt for it most of the time. I have mentioned this to Fed-Up and B&H to no avail. So I just stopped using any vendor that uses only Fed-UP

Before people immigrated into this country they were hospitalized on Ellis Island. People were evaluated and examined for medical conditions. I think one of the worst conditions is Tuberculosis. Many people come to this country under asylum from other countries with oppressive governments. They were not properly treated against this disease and had only received minimal drug therapy. As a result these people have multi drug resistant TB. We now have to use drugs that are only available through the CDC. This is one of the newest medical challenges we face.

Actually most people were vaccinated against measles in the 50's and was basically eradicated. So what has changed? The illegal influx of people across our open border. Measles is the only disease you hear of but there are also have been outbreaks of tropical diseases there were not in the U.S. before

At one time there were a lot of cameras made my everyday people that had some skills. Te cameras are easy to build. I had one that was built by a dentist. There were no markings on it as to the builder. My father had had the receipt for it and it was his father's. I have no idea what happened to the rediept.

Youre doubting that B$H will ask all the necessary questions ?

FWIW, a reader lacking that second row of contacts will still read a two row card. You show us that its the Hawgsters who do not bring up the necessary issues.

Hopefully the OPs new reader is now on its way and the next ten useless pages of this thread can just dangle in the aether.

Thank you saved me typing

AI is not our friend. Manipulating photos is nothing new, but AI has brought deceit to a new level. It's faster, and it's more convincing. Unfortunately, we've gotten to the point where we can't believe what we see or hear. Since I don't subscribe to NewScientist, I can't read the entire article, but you get the idea. If we can believe what we see and hear, we are going in a bad direction.

Deepfakes are out of control – is it too late to stop them?
AI-manipulated audio clips, images and videos have been used to harass people, scam money and influence elections, despite efforts to rein them in.

And...

Academic research is increasingly anthropomorphising technology – a trend that could mislead the public about how powerful artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge developments really are.
Myra Cheng and her colleagues at Stanford University, California, analysed the content of more than 655,000 academic publications released between May 2007 and September 2023, along with the headlines of approximately 14,000 news articles citing some of those papers. They rated the extent to which each text used human pronouns such as “he” and “she” rather than “it”, as well…

To answer your question Yes with acceptable results. The RF 100-400mm IS USM becomes a 140-560 mm f/8-11 IS USM.

I am just curious. Does anyone read previous comments, or do they just post answers the we get to read over and over. Just look at this post and see how many people said the same thing. "You can't go from film to RAW"

Steve Perry has a new video about how to make ISO 12,800 look like ISO 400. That email made me smile. Remember when we tried to avoid using 400 ASA film because it was too grainy? I preferred 32 or 125. Now, 400 is considered good. Our grandchildren will think that ISO 1,000 is slow.

It's the best 45 minutes you'll spend on post processing! (Steve)

Jerry you really brought back some memories on that. My go to film was Plus-X ASA 40 for B/W and then Kodachrome ASA 25 for color. If I was shooting a sporting event I would use Tri-X ASA 400 and using a method called Stand Processing you could push it to about 6400 ASA.

Perhaps manuals would be better if they used a print size one could read without a magnifying glass. Talk about fine print
