I recently posted regarding my desire to improve my landscape photography, and several responses suggested a more sturdy tripod. I'm currently using a fairly lightweight manfrotto tripod, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest some thing a bit more rugged that's still a practical weight for short hikes. Thanks.

I use the carbon fiber Peak Design. It is portable and reasonably stable

Lenses for the Nikon D850

I have an 850 and my main lens is the 24 - 70 2.8. My main prime lens is the 105 2.8. Is is a good macro and portrait lens. I have the 105 rather than the 85, because with the 105 I do not have to be close for macro stuff.

New camera in Paris

I have been in Paris numerous times and never had any problems. Even when I carrid a tripod in the evening to Louve and a few other places. I only took one lens.

Nikon d850 lenses

My favorite lens the Nikon 24 to 70, 2.8
For close up I have the 105 2.8, but the 85 2.8 is also a good lens.

Anything and everything or not?

I a member of a photo club and each month we have compition. At the begining of the year, a list of what the subject is for each competition is given out. Generally three months are open and other are spefic subjects.

This month it is nature. Last month it was artificial light.

I joined, so that I would have to get out and use my camera on a regular basis
