Hi there friends,
I just received my new Strike finder Elite, and to my surprise it really does not have a manual with it. Does anyone out there have one and know where I could find a manual I looked on line for a pdf file and it just shows me the 2 sided page thing that came with it. Said that the battery charger for the rechargeable batteries has a manual. I am still excited that it came in and will start playing with it tonight.

I have used an older version(might have been the first one IDK) of the Nero Trigger for both daytime and nightime shots with 5d MKii and MKiii , works pretty good, a little clunky to get used to. The sensitivity sometimes seems to be not quite adequate and other times is too sensitive. overall I think I would rate it a 8 out of 10. Any questions I had with the co were answered right away .

thanks gekko11

I have the Ubertronix elite, for daytime triggering. It works on my D800 and D7000. You tell them your camera when you buy it, and they ship the correct cable. Can't speak to any other brands. The thing to remember is you don't need a trigger for nighttime lightning, its only need to shoot lightning during the day. You can get night lightning with an intravolometer.

Thanks Capture48
I will have to check out the intravolmeter too.

Tried the old version of Nero Triggers on my D70s but they would not work correctly, if at all. Multiple e-mails with the owners, 3 copies and three different cables, still couldn't get it working. Too bad as the company was great to work with and very accommodating.

Ended up getting The Lightning Bug (http://www.mkcontrols.com/lightningbug/). That has worked just fine. Not as many features as the Nero, but it works.

Haven't tried either with my "new" D750. Need to purchase the right cables; not sure I want to even take a chance trying the Nero with it.
Tried the old version of Nero Triggers on my D70s ... (show quote)

Thanks BRP I think I might check out the Lighting bug.

Lots of articles here, but since they are posted on a site selling a lightning trigger, they probably favor that manufacturer.

Funny one -

There are various apps available that tell you how far away lightning is.

Thanks jerryc41 LOL I might have to go on a road trip too.

Hi has any one out there with a Nikon D7100 or D7000 ever used a lighting strike trigger. A new photo friend got me interested in them. I have checked out the Ubertronix Strike finder Elite, Nero Triggers and AEO trigger. I know the Ubertronix will work with both my D7100 and D7000.
But I have not really found information on the other two that it will work.
Any thoughts out there!
