If there was a more profitable market, I'm sure they would be more active but I doubt they will listen to the minority that believe they are behind.

Just buy a Sony and move on ;)

Sony has great Mirrorless bodies. The problem I have with Sony in this area is the lack of meaningful lenses. I just purchased Fujifilm's X-T1. What an awesome camera with lots of lenses to choose from!

Why not stay with the Fuji family and get a used XE-1 or new XE-2? With the 18-55mm lens, it's a perfect walk-around camera, and you don't have to learn completely new menus. Best of all, the images will be on par with the X-T1.

Thank you as well. Looks like I'm staying with Fuji. All your collective inputs are very appreciated. Now I need to make the decision on which model.

Why not stay in the Fuji family. Try a X100s or the update X100t. I love mine and don't use my Nikon much anymore.

Thank you. I think it will be a Fuji.

You'll be set!

I like it! Another suggestion to stay with Fuji.

Why not another Fuji. Interesting thing about Fuji is you can get a smaller, lighter less expensive backup camera with the same image quality (sensor).
XE1/XE2, X-M1, X-A1 etc.
Slap the 27mm on it and have some fun, maybe for your wife?

Thanks for the advice. Very interesting suggestion to stay with Fuji, especially since I've been a Canon guy all my life. I will definitely consider this because it does make, perfect sense to me. Thanks again!

Greetings everyone! I have been diligently reading all posts EVERYDAY! What a wealth of knowledge.

I now have a question and request your guidance.

I have a brand new Fuji X-T1 and absolutely love it! I have kept my Canon 6D and use it primarily for day trips when I drive somewhere, or if I don't need to cart around my camera all day long.

In April, I am going on a trip with my wife to Nepal. My trusty X-T1 coupled to my 18-135mm Fujinon lens are coming. However, on such an exotic trip, I always like to bring along a backup camera . . . just in case.

I purchased the X-T1 for its size, weight, low light capability and photo quality. I can't carry those heavy DSLR's anymore. So my question is: "What would be a good backup camera? I don't want another X-T1, but would want a good quality P&S . . . maybe?

Your collective thoughts and suggestions would be most-welcomed.

Thank you. This will be our 21st cruise, so we get some perks, including WiFi. The shore suggestion is, however a good one for sure. I would rather update continuously so I don't forget. I have a good memory, but it tends to be short at times!

I am using my blog to share trip photos with my children. That's why I wanted to send them a play-by-play of my trip.

My wife and I are taking a cruise in the Caribbean over Christmas this year. I have just setup a photoblog site and would like to update my blog post during the cruise. Does anyone have suggestions on what is more feasible . . . Update the same blog post with info and photos on a daily basis, or start a new post every day? I guess I want to know what would be easier for readers to read?

Thanks for your insight. Yes, low light will create problems for the SX50. I am having second thoughts now. Looks like I'll be taking my 7D abd accessories.

I love the 24-105 on my 7D! Just came back from the inaugural cruise aboard the Celebrity Reflection; started in Amsterdam and ended in Barcelona. This was the only lens I took and it worked wonderfully. It's not the fastest lens, but worked well for me in all cases but a couple. Just did some adjustment in Aperture where required. I highly recommend it.

Amazing photo! As a matter of interest, what were the settings you used for this? Also, full auto, semi-manual or manual?

Thanks for your insight. My wife has the SX40 and she impresses me with the "snot in a deer's nose" pictures she takes. I have tried her's and I like it for its quality and portability. My local camera shop will allow me to purchase and camera, use it for 14 days and return it if I am not satisfied for whatever reason, no questions asked. I'll try the SX50 anyway.
