Hi All,
I have a query.
I have been asked to photograph a 'lantern parade' which consists of a competition in a pub, then following the parade down the high street. The whole event is mainly for children (and parents).
Do I need to get permission? I know photographing children is a hard subject, but is it ok in a public place as other members of the public could also be photographing them?
Or if I do need to get permission, should I...
a)just ask for permission
b)Model release form?
c) just get a signature alongside printed name?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance :)
Great responses everybody thank you.
The project is a written essay rather than an actual photo project, so I am looking for an actual title/question for my essay.
No, all your feedback is greatly appreciated!
I do usually try to get it in bottom right corner, it appears my computer had a mind of its own in a couple of these!
Definitely altering this though, thanks for the advice!
These are my final images for my man vs nature themed college project. I was aiming to show what man has done to our environment and how nature is fighting back.
Any comments would be much appreciated...

I've been thinking about these questions for weeks, you make it seem so simple! Thanks for your help.
Hi everyone,
I'm currently researching for a 2.500 word essay I have to write, but I'm really struggling to create the title/question.
I'm looking at human intervention on our landscape, so looking at photographers such as Richard Misrach, Fay Godwin, Jem Southam, just to name a few (all have great work so definitely take a look!)
The best I've come up with so far is How does photography highlight human intervention in the landscape? But I'm not 100%
Any ideas for the question?
Thanks =]
Thank you everyone, you've all been really helpful and am now about to spend the evening researching my long list of names!
Yeah these are all really good and some pretty good viewpoints! But im guessing most are just snapshots or mobile pics maybe, and I need more professional photographers to write about =/
For my major project at college, I have chosen to look at how the recent flooding in England has affected our landscape/environment. But I'm struggling to find many examples of photographers who do this sort of thing. So far for my research I have looked at Fay Godwin and Richard Misrach, but brilliant photographers and I love their work, but I need more!!
Anyone have any ideas of favourites?
Thanks =]
Hi! My names Hannah, I'm 20 and currently studying photography at college.
One day I'd love to have my own business, fingers crossed, but at the moment, just starting out and learning the ropes!
