What a "superior" response. It might interest you to know that my ISP has been experiencing an extremely high volume of calls from Windows 10 upgrades. There seems to be an issue with misplaced files which will probably be dealt with by Microsoft as an update. The scan seems easy to run and resolves the problem. Not really interested in knocking Microsoft but it might be a good idea if they check that the new version functions correctly with their own products. If a mail system goes from working before the upgrade to not working after the upgrade-I rest my case!

Windows 10 has all sorts of issues. I could no longer send e mail from Outlook but could receive it plus a whole load of other irritating stuff. Seems it puts some Application files in the wrong place. I also had the same issue with my card. I ran sfc/scannow from the CMD prompt and it was sorted. Not a good start by Microsoft!

I now use Blurb and prepare the books in Lightroom. However, I really like Bob Books with the main reason being that they offer a "lay flat" spine which is really good. Bob Books also offer their software free as a download which is so much better that building the book an the web.

Amazon usually very good but beware of buying stock that comes from a foreign source. If you are not bothered about the associated issues then no problem. I have found that quite often from the UK site we end up getting goods from overseas and it is not immediately obvious on Amazon.

If you have calibrated your screen and also downloaded ICC profiles for the paper then you are probably better off letting photoshop manage. I had about a 20% variation between screen and print until I did this. I have used the Scott Kelby books they are a great help.

I have about $1500 worth-was it worth it? You can probably pick up bits and pieces for a lot less but I now have a one manufacturer set. Adds a very interesting dimension but it ends up being closer to painting than photography!

Makes sense, I was going to take my 70-200 with the 1.4 extender but it does not give me very much extra with a full frame sensor. My only concern is the autofucus with the extender. My dealer says it will not go beyond F8 with the 100-400 and an extender but the Canon site says it will autofocus using single point. The cost of the filters with the Sigma is quite an extra, by the time I have added a UV and a Polariser it racks the cost up quite a bit whereas I can stay with the 77mm on the Canon.

Weighing up two options. Sigma 150-600 Sport (where I also have to buy new filters for the larger thread) versus Canon 100-400 USM II with existing 1.4 III Extender. Any thoughts?

Sometimes you can afford to underwrite the Warranty yourself if the saving is big enough. After all we are only talking about 12 months. I do get a little fed up with trying to reconcile the difference in price for something was not made in the UK or the USA. We had this price difference for years in the UK between our car costs and those throughout the rest of Europe and thankfully that has now ended.

This is an interesting issue. I want the new Canon 100-400 and it is £2000 ($3070) in the UK. I can see that I can buy it in USA and Canada for quite a bit less. So it may well be worth the one year gamble as I am visiting Vancouver and then into Alaska next month. Is this seriously going to be a grey lense?

The grey market is an interesting one. About 20 miles north of Hanoi there is a very big Canon manufacturing site. No doubt the last lense that I bought could have been made there. However, if I had gone to a camera store in Hanoi and bought it then it would have been "grey". Just like my Toyota dealer telling me that the car I got from Ireland was an import and Grey, strange as it is a japanese car! Often seems worth the gamble on the 12 month warranty, especially if you average it across all your kit.

Had the same issues. I purchased Scott Kelby's book on Lightroom.
The most important thing to do is import from the same location so I put the photos that I wanted to import into a new folder called Lightroom Imports and left everything else where it was. I did have to read the relevant sections in the book a few times but once the penny drops on how it all works it is great-stick with it!
