After years of using my favorite M43 Camera the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II which I said I would never replace I came across an OM-D E-M1 II for a really good price and as it came with the box and other stuff along with a Sigma 30mm f2.8 I went for it.

Wow, what a camera this is, I am now torn about selling on the Sigma lens but after taking a few shots with it it is incredibly sharp and, well, it's a weird focal length that doesn't fit well with what I do. It's a light plastic lens with a metal mount and it rattles when not connected to a camera that is switched on and was wondering if I should just sell it on or keep it just in case?

It's a Sigma 30mm f2.8 EX DN and made for M43 and another format which I can't remember for the life of me.

Has anyone else had any experience with this Sigma lens?

Yes of course you are right, I could and never will understand the need to spend thousands of pounds or dollars on a phone with a camera that had a few fixed lenses on it where you were tied to an expensive contract to use it.

I recently got myself a second hand OM-D E-M1 II at a great price but nowhere in the manual does it mention making phone calls or contacting your provider to keep it going, ah well, it must be so old it didn't have calling technology, never mind, I have a phone anyway that is hardly used.

I wonder if they will implement "Pixel Shift" as Olympus and other camera manufacturers do to claim the higher "Mega" sizes? It won't be very hard to pixel shift a sensor that is used in "Phones" and use AI to remove any awkward movements. Time will tell, maybe.

Hahahaha, yep, I'm a "Scammy" Billionaire at the moment, all the non entered lottery wins I've had over the years must make me the richest person in the universe.

Once a 12mm lens is attached it won't fit in the pocket, unless of course they keep their 4mm lenses and have a super duper wide angle with hardly any definition but recognisable imaging. It's all fake, the phone would have to be at least as thick as a compact M43 camera.

The most annoying thing about this is that "ViewBug", which I have been a member of for years use the same tactics to get you to "Subscribe". I ignore them all now.

I have also heard that shutter slap can affect M43 images.

Take a look through the viewfinder of a mirror-less camera when the battery has run out and let me know me what you see.

"Timmers", wow, those two images hurt my eyes, they look like they were taken for an old Danish top-shelf magazine from the '60s, absolutely awful. It just goes to show that having the most expensive gear in the world (if you actually do own it) will make you a photographer.

I'm going through a stage now where I'm trying the M43 system, bought a Lumix G5 body, an adapter so I can use my Canon lenses on it using manual focus and I have to say I was impressed with the technology.

I did after a couple of weeks get a native M43 lens, the Panasonic 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II and took a few shots. When the lens arrived and I unpacked it my other half said you paid what for that?

I thought the idea of having a camera that could, with adapters use all the lenses I own, and it does, this is one of the reasons I went for the Canon EOS system. I have a few older lenses that I use all the time on my Canon but with the 2x POV of the M43 system, I need to get used to it.

My Sigma 18-250mm Canon mount now becomes a 36-500mm lens and with my 2x teleconverter becomes a 72-1000 kind of lens.

I like the M43 system, right now it feels like I'm using a toy camera because of the weight and size, but I'll probably get used to it eventually. I paid £40.00 for the Lumix DMC-G5 (had less than 2000 shutter fires), the 14-42mm lens was also £45.00, both used, I'm having fun and that's what counts.

Well, I sent my camera on a vacation and it never bothered to take a record of where it had been. Next time I will just go with it to see if it makes a difference.

The easiest way I found to deal with this kind of situation was to have the customer sign a contract that states something like this:

You may post the images on any social network on the following conditions:

(1) .. You include my details with each image posted.
(2) .. If the images are altered in any way before being posted on a social network (or posted on any sharing network) you will be responsible for the sum of $XX.XX for each "like".

You could expand on this of course, but then you will have to keep track and be a "friend".

Sounds harsh, but if you want your "freebies" to advertise your skills then the condition they are "free" should state they are willing to promote your professionalism.

Have you tried resetting the camera back to original setting?

1. Select [Clear Settings] (third to last menu under Menu).
2. Select [Clear all camera settings]
3. Select [OK]

For a detailed list of which settings will be affected, see page 45 of the manual.

Also, in Picasa, click on Picnik, it has a HDRish... You may like it...

That is absolutely awful. Not HDR at all.
