Hot air balloons.

I did an early morning sunrise ride in Moab last spring. It is a great experience, but difficult to get in the perfect position for a shot, but a great perspective to get a different variety of shots. Pretty smooth and calm on our ride.

Be careful with Li Ion/polymer batteries!

Wow-what a story. I carry spare batteries for my Canon SX 50 loose in my case. Do I need to have those in plastic boxes so nothing touches the terminals? Or are they small enough not to cause a fire?

The SX50 is a digital camera not a film camera. There is no shutter control that I can find.

I do have a tripod I can't find a way to extend the shutter speed. There is no "B" setting like the old film cameras.

Looking for some suggestions. I'll be in Fairbanks and doing a tour of the Arctic Circle hoping to see the Northern Lights Aurora Borealis in a few days. I have a Canon SX50 HS, and can't find any modes where I can take a long exposure. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a good photo of the Northern Lights with an SX50? My cell phone is an iPhone 6 SE which doesn't seem to be able to adjust ISO and time exposure either. Open to any suggestions. Thanks

Morning Glory, Canyon's First Light

Nice shot Jederick. It brings back good memories. I've taken the 67-mile canoe trip down the Green River from Green River Utah to Mineral Bottom several times and love the remote splendor of that area.
