Mike, I have really enjoyed all your photos. Have you considered writing a book about where too travel in Alaska. Now that I've been retired, I'm able to travel for the purpose of taking pictures. My next trip will be Alaska. Being from the East, I've spent a lot of time seeing the West. I've done it by using the books of "Laurent Martres", whom I met on one of my trips. At the time, I asked him if he would consider writing a book for the handicap. He thought it would be a good idea, but instead he said he could put an asterisk beside the pictures that didn't require a lot of hiking. The reason I ask you is that I'd like too have some type of guide book that I could take some pictures like yours in Alaska, without having to hike more than 1000 ft. or even less one way. It would be very helpful for us nearing or in our 80's. Once again, your photography is outstanding. Your thoughts and any guidance. jploski@yahoo.com
I've enjoyed all your outstanding pix., but I have to ask, what time of the year were you there to get these beautiful fall shots?
Thanks, I do have a registered acct. with acct. No. but, I don't understand how to remove it from my unloaded desktop. I have the CD to reload it.
I had Elements 12 on my laptop and desktop. My desktop crashed and when it was restored I need too add Elements 12 again. Adobe won't let me because I've loaded it twice. I can find no way to communicate with Adobe or load it again. Anyone have any idea what I can do? I did find an outside source that will help but they want $47. Why? when I can buy the program for $69
I'm very enthused and appreciative about everyones input. My idea about cropping was to make the pier larger. Taking advice from the input I got, I'm submitting a 2nd crop. Comments welcome.
Folly Beach pre-sunrise in picture #2 is a crop of #1. Should I make the crop?

This new CF card reader that I got for the IPAD says that it only works in a "DCIM" folder. I don't know what it is talking about, but apparently mine sre brcause it reads the flash card. Maybe someone can help me with what it is or how to get a "DCIM " folder if need be.
I and many other have the same problem reading a CF card with a card reader thru the usb port, "not enough Power", This one works great for me.
Thanks dparker, If you are a single woman, be careful with that love stuff. I'm a widower. Just kidding, hope it works for you also. The reason why I had to take the Ipad out of the case was because reader is bigger than the opening in my case

CF Card to New IPAD, A few days ago I opened a can of worms about downloading a CF card to the New Ipad. I got a lot of advice from people that was of no use except for using my power cable from the 7D to the new Ipad. I also heard from many of you that shared the same problem that also wanted help. Well this is too let you know that I got a CF card reader that works for me. No cables. It looks like the Apple SD reader except for CF card. Here is what I got from Amazon: "CF Card Reader CF1 CF II Connection Kit For APPLE The New iPad 3rd" cost $18.59 PS. I had to take the Ipad out of the case to insert the card reader.
-lois- I like your idea, but I can't find a CF to SD adapter. I DO find SD to CF adapters. Can you direct me to a CF to SD addapter. Thanks
Jim
peggyjom, I like your idea of using a digital photo frame instead of the Ipad. Would you be so kind to share with me what you selected for your frame, and could I just put my CF card in it for review, and last could it be used in the field with a battery or does it require electric. Thanks, you do have a good idea.
Jim
My hope, like others, was to travel taking pics. and view them on the New Ipad, while leaving them on the CF card. I'd download them to my computer for touch-up when I got home, It was my hope to be able to use the Ipad rather than carry a computer. Still looking for tips. I know I could download from my 7D, but would rather use a card reader.
Sorry abut sssending the last two without finishing my thought, For those of you that have been saying to get a usb and plug the card reader into it and it will read the card. I'm wondering if you are doing it succesfully for the larger CF card. I've use 3 different card readers with the sane results, "not enough pewer". If anyone has had success for the NEW IPAD I'd like to know what card reader you are using. I have the Apple USb adapter, but maybr not the right card reader. Thanks for bearing with us that keep getting "not enough power" for the CF card
