Don't you love when everyone second-guesses you! I think the square crop has gone too far and the 16x9 has too much. Somewhere in-between would be my choice.

I agree with you on the square crop. I like the drama of Stella gazing into the unknown~

Hobbyist. Still learning my Canon R7. The family wanted to go to a sunrise easter beach service. I thought as it was on the beach and sunrise, it might make for some nice shots. Because I did not trust myself to choose proper manual setting for the situation (still night, but some building lighting), I choose to try the special setting Handheld Night Shooting where it takes 4 shots and combines them. It wasn't until well after editing them, that I realized they were shot JPG by the camera instead of my c-RAW setting. I could not find anything in the manual about the camera using jpgs in the special setting. Just out of curiosity, is it because of taking 4 shots (and RAW may be too much data) it shoots jpg?

BTW was thrilled at the quality of the shots. One of the shots after posting, was chosen by the local paper for the first page story on the event. A few of the shots are attached.

Since my flower selection is limited, I have been experimenting with flowers from my local grocery store. I was pleased when I saw that they had some outside, but like my flowers, the wind kicked up as soon as I started to photograph them! So into the store, I went!

Something a bit different for me. They are FAR from perfect yet, but as always it's part of my learning process!

Worth the trip!! Beautiful

Just a couple of plants that just bloomed this week. I don't know what the yellow is. It might be wild. And a tulip!

Jack is an F1 Labradoodle and was my best bud for 10 years... Since his Bro's got cameo shots here I think he would like his posted also. He was a Gentle Giant and the best friend and companion anyone could ask for.

I am so sorry to see this. This is a beautiful picture of Jack. I'm sure that you were his best bud also. They are so loyal and it's so hard to say --goodby:(

I was using a 400 2.8 lens with a rear mount filter slide. The huge 4 inch+ front filter mount was damaged on the barrowed lens I was using. As I recall the darkest rear mount filter I could find was an 8 stop. Since I used a 2x converter it allowed an exposure of 1/8000 at f22. My Mark3 camera suffered no damage. The converter made the difference. See samples

I noticed this little gal when I let Murphy out yesterday morning, since it was quite breezy and she was way to close to the ground I coaxed her into the studio.

Very pretty!
