EDIT:

In the experience of this novice, it is better to print anything with color from the Epson Smart Panel app, rather than directly from the OS of the phone or tablet.

Colors, when printed from the wireless device OS, in my experience, are unuseable. The printer puts on way too much ink, and not a way to decrease the print quality setting to reduce the ink flow. (However, maybe someday I'll find there is another setting tucked away, out of sight in the wireless device menus, that can correct that.)

Black and white documents printed directly from the wireless device do fine.

A little Google survey popped up a few minutes ago. One of the questions was, "Do you think Google is concerned about your privacy?" Are they kidding? "Strongly disagree."

Learning something new is supposed to be good for us. Just do it!

Yes, that's true. I'm working on a few projects, and I'm getting ready to go away for the weekend, so my education will have to wait. there are loads of videos showing how to synch videos using DaVinci.

Hudson is still tidal up that far? Y/N?

Yes, it is. When I used to use a sailboat on the Hudson, I could sail standing still if I tried to go against the tide.

Staples has a Epson Expression Home XP-5200 Wireless Color All-in-One Inkjet Printer for $80…that would be my choice and I would expect you to help her set it up to her phone and her computer…

Thanks. I'll pass that along. The local Staples has both the ET-2400 and the ET-2800, so she can see them in person.

Yes, I know. Most screwdrivers are cordless, but this is about electric, powered screwdrivers. Although I've owned a couple, I use the old-fashioned kind or a cordless drill if I have a lot of screws to put in or take out.

The Torque Test Channel did a test of these screwdrivers on Sunday, and the cheap Amazon Denali unit was just about the best one tested. At $24, it was faster than almost all the others, although the $120 DeWalt might have edged it out. It I wanted one of these, I would get the Amazon Denali. A higher price doesn't necessarily mean higher quality. He tested only screwdrivers that were shaped like regular screwdrivers, not the pistol kind.

Last month, Project Farm tested cordless screwdrivers shaped like a drill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxNovtAv6dk

Kingston will be putting in new bulkheads on the Rondout Creek, which runs off the Hudson River. This is a very busy area with tourist boats and docking for visitors. I'm glad that they're not waiting for the current bulkheads to collapse. Flooding has been a problem there, so the new ones will be a bit higher.

I've often wondered how they put in the first bulkheads on a river. In Nature, the water gets shallower as it reaches the shore, but with bulkheads, the depth is about the same all the way across. I'm guessing that they build the bulkheads at the shoreline and let the river fill up when they are completed.

Don't forget refurbs. I've bought many, and I've never been disappointed. The warranty will be shorter, but in fifty years, I haven't needed a camera warranty.

Do both of your phones fail to connect to ANY bluetooth device, or just to the Galaxy smart watch? If just the watch, it might be worth trying something from Amazon that intrigues you since you can send it back for free if it doesn't connect well.

Admittedly, bluetooth can be occasionally flaky, at least in my experience. (Except between two Apple devices, where I have always had complete reliability.)

Neither of my phones can download the apps for two small cameras. The Samsung cannot install the app for the watch. The Moto e6 can install the app, and I can see that it is paired with the phone. However, when the phone scans for something to connect to, it finds nothing. The watch tells me to use the app to activate the phone. I have Schrodinger's phone. It sees the watch, but it doesn't.

My "new" Samsung watch arrives today. If that can't connect to everything, back it goes. It's the Galaxy S10, supposedly a good phone. I'll probably use it for everything but phone calls - no activation and no expense.

I've worn a self winding watch of one sort or another for more than a half century. it's always on, viewable from a lot of different angles, accurate enough for daily purposes, and keeps running as long as I keep wearing it. But I recently decided I would like to have heart rate and steps info available and got an Amazfit Band 7 tracker to wear on the other wrist. It doesn't do phone calls, but does have a sleep monitor as well as a lot of workout functions, of which I only use the Walking one for my semi-weekly workouts. It has 10 alarms you can set - I have 2 set permanently, Sunday wakeup and a daily reminder for evening pills, and the others I set as needed for single use.

It was not expensive, and I refer to the thing regularly throughout the day. A charge usually takes less than an hour, and lasts at least a week, usually closer to 2.

Thanks for that! It's temporarily on sale for $45, but they seem to have an identical one for $40. Then there's a different brand for $50. "Connectivity" is Bluetooth. Not for me! No connectivity - because I already know that it won't connect.

I tend to hang out with older folks, and I've noticed something amusing. If something falls to the floor, people don't rush to pick it up. Like me, I bet they are asking themselves two questions: Do I really need that thing? If I bend down that far, will I be able to get back up?

VASA was developed by Microsoft, but it hasn't been released. Heaven help us if and when they do release. Imagine this. You take a picture of a face and add any audio text to it. the face moves and speaks the text file perfectly. They tried it with a drawing of a Japanese face speaking Japanese. Although MS did not train it to speak Japanese, it performed perfectly. As an added feature, you can specify serious, happy, concerned, or angry. If this becomes available, we will never be able to believe what we see and hear.

Take a look. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/project/vasa-1/
