It wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for Yahoos running out and buying up everything they can find. Just like toilet paper, there was no shortage, it was caused by people wanting to worry about themselves, and not worried about their neighbors.

I am a supply chain manager for the largest Hospital network in Indiana. It's been a nightmare trying to have enough PPE for just day to day use for our stock. There isn't even enough to do our normal allocations. It's not just average people, state governments are buying everything up creating a stockpile for their state, even if the hospitals in their state are hurting. It makes no sense.

I also had 40 respirators on order that were due in before the Covid-19 even broke, but there were delays in delivery. Once they were ready to ship, they were bought out from under us by a state that thought their residents were more important than our residents. This should be illegal... but it depends on who bullies who, and who throws around more money.

OK off my soapbox.

Obviously, we're close friends :)

HAHA, I never thought of that...

I may threaten to close the business again. Seems like every time I do that, I end up with a record breaking year.

Right now, just working for the hospital, trying to keep enough supplies in stock to service the influx of Covid-19 patients, as well as the regular crowd of patients. We're actually going to look into devoting entire floors of the hospital, so the workers don't have to blow through 6,000 isolation gowns a day. Work for a Hospital, and this gets surreal... Like trying to locate (if it comes to this) enough walk in coolers for bodies, because we don't have enough morgue space if it gets as bad as some estimates.

leads started of surprisingly low for this year to begin with. Had 2 meetings set up that have been postponed, and one cancel, except you know that story. The groom just decided that he didn't want a wife, and HIS 4 kids as a responsibility.

Once the quarantine stuff stops, I will be doing family photos of her and the kids to make use of the deposit money. She cried when I told her, she knew that the deposit was non-refundable, and said "my kids are my life, you are amazing, and thank you so much for offering up something to avoid losing all that money"

We both win this way. I think ultimately, she dodged a bullet by the wedding falling through if he's that type of a guy. I met with them twice, and NEVER got that vibe. My jerk detector must need batteries.

The good. I like the rim light from the sunset. You caught a very nice moment.

Suggestions. As was mentioned in the removed post that offered criticism without any "constructive" a few things to consider when doing staged, vs. a "captured moment" for lack of a better term. I try to shoot from the other side, so you get her ring in the photo.

Another thing that is silly, but my personal preference, is that I've always considered the wedding day, the "brides big day" Face it, most of us grooms were just along for the big party afterwards... and the honeymoon in my generation. In that light, I always try to get her nose to the camera side. It shows more of her face, and she's the star.

Unless maybe you are Ed. I think most of us would always change something about these shots, because we forgot "something." The reason for this section is to take suggestions that you agree with, and try to remember them in the heat of the moment.

You balanced the light well for the background and scene. I personally try to use OCF as often as possible to create a little more dimension, but that's my style. I'm sure they love it, and it is beautiful in the album. Whether you do albums or not, it's a disservice to not suggest that if you give them a disk, that the first thing they do is create an album... Wall hangers come and go, but families, kids, and grandkids always love looking at albums. (OK, I'm preaching again)

I think it takes a narcissist to spend time searching for articles that prove their point of view is the only correct point of view.

There are several couples in my area tha absolutely love the idea of aerial shots of their wedding. Noise or not. I always do a test flight so they can hear the rotor, and I have never had anyone change their mind because of sound. I pay extra for sound reducing props, and do my best to get the shots quickly and land.. but I am the narcissist?

Good for you, but I'm a licensed and insured drone operator, and I also don't buss around someone's head, nor spy on them. You are lumping all of us in one basket.

Don't get too excited, I also use my DSLR, shoot weddings, portraits, etc. I've had my DSLR on a cruise ship, and have had comments made about "who does that guy think he his with that expensive camera" At the time, I was using a second hand D200, that was worth less than my wife's point and shoot. It's all perception, just like your perception because you either heard of a jerk, or witnessed one personally. Seriously, how many times have you REALLY had someone buzzing around your head? First of all, flying directly over someone's head is illegal.

My point is that your opinion is an opinion, you also don't need to lump my professionalism in with someone that you may or may not have personally dealt with. Blanket statements are a huge part of what is wrong in forums.

I kind of get it. I’ve only used Photoshop two or three times now so I think it will come but it is still a bit to grasp.

the way it was explained to me years ago that made everything click is that it's like using clear plastic to edit your original.

Your original is on paper, each edit above that is on clear vellum. If later, you don't like something, you can just remove (delete) that sheet from the stack.

Eventually, when you get into masks, just think of them as more sheets of paper, with cut outs so you can see part of whatever is underneath.

You nailed it 100%.
Drone owners by and large are narcissists who have NO respect for others privacy, peace and enjoyment of the outdoors. They insist they have as much right to do whatever they want regardless of how annoying and at times dangerous their narcissism is to the larger population.

Better be careful. A LOT of people feel the same way about people taking DSLR's on vacation, and how people that use them are narcissists. I also know and have to work with several architects, and frankly, I feel the same way about them. It's all in your point of view. Doesn't make you or me correct, but you sure seem to be the one who thinks he knows all the answers.

I did a 'doors-off' helicopter tour of Oahu. It was so much fun I did it again 2 days later. Beats a drone anyday!

Not for me. I got so sick when I went on a tour over the active volcano on the big island about 28 or so years ago, that the thought of ever sitting in a helicopter again gives me chills.

I'd rather take my photos from a nice safe location with both feet on the ground.

What is the purpose of using Adobe Bridge with PSE?

I suppose it's what you are used to. I preferred the Elements organizer to Bridge. I prefer Lightroom to Elements organizer.

When I finally hang up doing photography as a business, I will probably go back to Elements. I don't think I've had bridge open in 10 years

I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be to have multiple drones flying above all those people, along with the complaints about people thinking they are being "ogled" by whoever is flying the drone, which may or may not be an issue. I'm sure you can "bring" it, but probably not actually use it on the ship. Until you've been on a cruise ship, you also don't realize how windy it is. You may just lose an expensive drone because the wind from the ship, plus the speed of the actual wind, blows it too far away to recover.

I don't know the laws in Hawaii, but I'm guessing they are the same as most. One big one is not being allowed to fly in a national park, which would be disappointing on the big island. I've been to Hawaii 3x, but it was before Drones were even thought of. There would be beautiful things to see, like waterfalls on the road to Hana, but beaches, and all the national park designations probably does whittle down your choices. If you want to take it, take it, but just find out when you get there who allows what. Don't trust a bunch of random people on the internet to keep you out of trouble. That could end up badly.

Good luck, and if you get some amazing drone footage, please share it. I would love to go back, but silly things like paying bills, etc, seem to get in the way.

I suspect that some of these problems are with those who got the free Win 10 upgrade on a Win 7 machine. My current Dell came with Win 10 and I’ve never had an update issue. I’ve never had to do it but I don’t think it’s very difficult to roll back to the previous update and stick with that or try another update again.

I was wondering the same thing. I had HUGE issues with a machine that I updated TO Windows 7, and always thought that people were crazy for liking it. I didn't have a windows 8 machine, but when I got a new computer with Win10 installed, I loved it, and couldn't figure out the issue. I agree, maybe the issue is with machines that weren't originally Win10 machines?
