So man negative comments so I decided to look through those portfolios. Then I decided I just needed to consider the sources.

An excellent idea!

Sorry I ever sold mine...found another for $700 with 3,000 clicks, new condition, I missed out by 1 day due to a previous engagement.

I too miss my D700, replaced with a D800. Sellers remorse.

I like the first one cropped. A more intimate relation ship, in my view.

Good luck with whatever you choose to submit.

I wanted to get this right in camera as I don't do any complicated post processing. But it was difficult to evaluate in camera so I may need to go back. I learned that painting the waterfall with a flashlight evenly wasn't the ticket since some of it was farther away and there were some rocks that were more reflective. Any suggestions?

cfbudd, what a pretty horse Please talk about your reasons for the crop, why you feel it improves the image? Or is it that you're just presenting your own interpretation of the scene for our consideration? I'm curious about your thought process. Thanks!

Not much in-depth thinking. The original was good. The darker horses kept taking my eye from what I thought was a beautiful picture by itself. Had I been there and experienced the interaction of subjects and photographer, I might have presented it differently. Who knows?

Went out today with my Canon Sl1 and canon 100-400mm. All the opportunities were there at the park today Kingfisher, Osprey, fancy ducks and a Blue Herron. Out of all the pics I took maybe a handful were ok. Now I am not that good when there's no sunlight but I am beginning to think that I need A different camera for BIF, I know the lens is great. Disappointed!! What do you think?

Nothing heals back surgery quicker than standing next to a Union Pacific steam locomotive. But the surgeon lied. He said that he removed my bad disk completely, but as you can tell by looking just below my arms and above my belt line, all he did was push the bad disk toward the front.

Go back to the red head! A sure cure.

Great photos. I forgot about the train. How do you know it's dyed?
