Driving to work early one morning down a country lane the sun was shining low in the sky and the bluebells were in bloom, stopped my car at the side of the road and went off into the wood to take some pictures of the bluebells, there was an opening and set myself up there, this tree seemed to be shouting out at me to take its picture, it looked so nice with its branches spread wide, moss and bluebells at its base, I just fell in love with it, going back this spring to take some more shots of it and its surroundings, hope I can find it again

How do you do an egg (anybody?)

The way I do it is in GIMP>Filters>Animation>Spinning Globe. If you use a square picture you get a globe. If you do a picture with one dimension longer than the other you get an egg. The computer has to do a lot of computations so it takes a while. I usually fill in the background corners in Corel X5 or Photoshop. Any further questions let me know.

Here's some new ones for today.

You know, I did make an egg probably the way you said (that was months ago)....and it came out strange. I'll have to go back & try it again. Thanx for answering!

Ohh this one came out soooo pretty!

Thank you for the compliments! I agree with you that it seems like an extended family; which I enjoy very much. It is an honor to be thought of that way and I appreciate it!

We had an excellent dinner. Zack is a wonderful 20 year old (his birthday is the 18th so we celebrated). His education in an international school in Yokohama and now a Sophomore at Tampa University gives him a broader view than most. He plays on the Varsity Soccer team as substitute goalie. So I guess you can see we are a little proud of him.

So hard to choose....but I think #1.

Oh, how I envy you. I started out years ago on a Mac but had to change to Windows for work. Now I have so many programs in it that I can't change back. I don't think Picasa is compatible but you will have to check. Good luck in your new endeavors and be sure to ask for help if you need it.

There sure are a lot of nice posts today. I was amazed when I finally got to the computer tonight.

Vacation is just about over. We are having dinner with my grandson this evening who I haven't seen in a couple of years. He lives in Japan but goes to college in Tampa. I did take about 2,000 pictures and have been sending some new edits all along. I appreciate your keeping up with the thread. I now realize how important that is as I have tried posting on some other threads where the moderator doesn't follow through. The subjects are good but without followup, they quickly die.

Hi Swede, hope you enjoy the dinner with your Grandson tonight, I think Jen does a great job in your absence, you are very lucky having her to step into your shoes. Hope your vacation was a good one .

You are so right about follow up, that is why I gave up with other threads but made an exception last weekend and posted on another thread, somebody asked if I would be prepared to give a clue as to how I did my work, I replied and said I would be happy to post details the following evening, so I spent some 2-3 hours running through a work from base image to completion, put a message on the thread the following night to ask for advice if it was ok to put this set of pictures up or where else could I post them, Guess what NO Reply.

Funny the following night that clasina asked the same sort of question so I posted them on this thread and within 24 hours had a reply from clasina thanking me.

You have built a great thread here with a good group of people willing to share there knowledge which benefits us all.
Well done Swede
quote=llindstrand quote=JENNIFER quote=llindstr... (show quote)

I have to agree with Simon....that this is a GREAT thread and there are GREAT people who really are interested in keeping this going. Without you, there would have been none of this!
