My travel buddy and I have settled on visiting Oregon for next year's autumn photo trip. Although I have been to Oregon several times, I have only been to the Bend area in the autumn and the coast in the spring. Since we want to spend the majority of our time on the Coast, I am wondering what the last few years' weather trend has produced in terms of fog, rainfall, or storms in either Sept. or Oct. Also, how long do the leaves typically last along the coast?

In other words, can anyone shed some light on the pros or cons of either month for best photo ops? Thanks in advance for taking time to offer your sugestions.

I lived in Newport for 10 years and in Portland for 10 1990 to 2010 it is hard to predict BUT, when the weather starts cooling down in the valley { IE Eugene } and their highs are around the same degree's as the coast you get REALLY nice weather {Indian summer}, last 5 to 14 days the same in the spring, when it starts warming up in the valley and is about the same degree's as the coast it is really nice, very low wind and clear skies {for the coast} !!! { makes me wonder why I moved back to sacramento ca!!! heavy sigh!!!} good luck

I had a Lexar recover program for my cf and sd cards on my old computer, well it took a crap, just bought a new cf card from Lexar, went to their web site to download the software to recover images. but I see that as of 8/2017 "longsys" owns Lexar. and does not have that recovery program available. what would you recommend as a good recovery program pay or free,

I have been a member of IFPO) since 2006. I think they have changed a bit (for the better). I called them to get new cards last week and received a new package yesterday, (No problem getting through) with three very nice Freelance cards with my picture and membership date. On the backs of the cards there is verification of IFPO. On minor events, yes, it did work very well. On major events I apply at the organization and advise them I am a freelance photographer and sometimes they want proof of some sort to back up my qualifications. When I became a member of IFPO I had to send them photos that I took and events that I shot to get my cards. I don't know if you have to do that now. There are different levels of membership too, depending on your skills and events shot, etc. So I have had good success with them and the cards I received and lanyard is of very nice quality. I do a lot of roaming the back roads where I live and when taking pictures of "things" I often have someone come out of their house or business and ask what I am doing. I always wear my identification around my neck when shooting in those circumstances and I have great experiences with those suspicious people when they can see an ID. So, to answer redhogbill, yes, I had good luck with the cards.

Just a word. I joined IFPO several years ago. I got a membership card and that was it. Tried to contact them several times, never heard back. Tried to look them up on the internet. Couldn't find them. Finally threw away my membership card. Upside, I did find them on line just now.

SOOO, did the card from IFPO work to get you into venue's?
