We've reached the last day of 2022 - already!! A time of reflection. I pulled together some interesting (to me) statistics related to the challenges.

The challenges began as a "picture a day challenge" Jan1, 2012 with this post by Photogrl57 (not our Lesley AKA Photogirl17)

"Not sure how long this will last but I decided to challenge myself and make at least one photo everyday this year of something I normally wouldn't shoot.
So here is my first entry ....
I was out hiking in the mountains today and this tree just spoke to me. Not sure why LOL.

January1, 2023 will be the 11th Anniversary of what is now known as "The Challenges". The format has undergone many changes

In 2022, we hosted at least 57 challenges (not including Free Sunday). Categories included topics that fell into one or more of the following categories: Nature/Scenic/Seasonal, Still Life, Techniques, Creativity, Architecture/Art, Colors/Letters and 3 "NO HOST" Half of the topics were related to developing/improving/attempting a photographic technic.

There were:
5 people who hosted on a regular basis (9-13 times and Larry who did 40+))
10 Who hosted once during the year
4 who hosted for the first time

Thank you to everyone who helped out. You are appreciated and needed to keep the challenges going.

In these 11 years we had 3 Photopaloozas in which a number of us met up, met each other and shot together. #1 was in Denver and hosted by "RiverNan", "SHer", and Georgette. #2 Was in Portland Me hosted by yours truly with help from "Bushido"(Richard), Judy Juul, "Clicker" (Sharon) #3 was in Phoenix hosted by PJ (Kelly) Reed

And that's how we began
