OK, the remote is working, I see the lens on it blinking.
Still haven't figured out how to make it fire the camera, but its late and I'll continue with it tomorrow.

Thanks

I've read the manual and have figured out how to turn on the remote control timer. I set it for 15 min., which is supposed to active the remote control reception. The remote unit is new, but not Nikon.

My question is: How do I know the remote is sending out a signal? Does the lens in the end of the end of the remote unit light up or something? I know it is infrared, but I don't know if I should be seeing something or not.

Using a D5100 and an aftermarket remote unit.

Thanks
Steve

I notice he used a Remington 700.

I just bought 2 EN-EL14 Batteries
They don't work in my D5200
They are only for Nikon Coolpix P7000, not for Nikon D3100, D5100, D5200
Brand new, just cover the shipping, free to UHH members
These ARE NOT genuine Nikon batteries
Shipping would be USPS from north Florida

I'll take them. How do you wish to get paid?

Thanks for the help. I did make one mistake, it is a 18-70 3.5- lens.

I went with the 16-85.

The 24-70 is not very wide on a 5100.
You will probably be happier with the 16-85, a very good performer on a DX camera.

It's not the 2.8, it's a 3.5

I've picked up a 70-300 lens, and now I need the lower range ens to replace my kit lens for a Nikon D5100.

I've found a 24-70 and a 16-85, both for under $400. Both are VR lens, and both are 3.5-5.6.

I'm leaning towards the 16-85 because of the 16, and that it would/could? Be a better walk around lens.

Any reason I should stay away from either?

Thanks
Steve

Thank you for you legal advice.

This is the point that your 2nd amendment rights come into play.

Not long ago, I purchased something, using PP to pay. I thought I had enough funds in my PP account (was selling some racing parts off my Corvette). I was about $120 short, so it went to the BML account. Wanted to pay with my CC, but no way with BML. Finially ended up giving my son the amount I needed to cover the bill and had him send it to me as a gift. No fees on gifts, and he used his CC to cover his PP bill. I then payed my BML account with money that was in my PP account.

Hope that wasn't too confusing.

I think snipers would work, too. You would only have to announce their deployment and I bet things would stop.
