Harry, you did a beautiful job in the capture, and in the extraction. My compliments to you.

Do you find any advantages to that classification Jerry?

Again, I'm not sure I know what the Spitfire has to do with batteries, BUT, I'm so glad to read that. My very first card, when I began teaching in 1966, was a Triumph Spitfire, which I suppose was a 1966 version. I loved that car. The only one that if you wanted to change the spark plugs, you simply lifted the bonnet, forward since it was hinged in the front, then you could sit on a tire and change the plugs.

I must have missed something. Who is using a multi-thousand dollar camera?

Okay, I'm going to put this out there and if you have strong feeling about "Powerextra", I welcome them.

I'm a Canon user, thru and thru. Right up to 4 Canon 5DIIs and five L-series lenses. Dedication clear.

Only because of this conversation, I took at closer look at the 8 batteries in those 4 5DIIs (each has a battery pack grip). Interesting, for I've found that 4 of those 8 batteries are Canon brand. The other 4 or Powerextra. Then I looked into my drawer where I keep spare batteries. Once again 2 are Canon brand and 2 are Powerextra.

Now I haven't purchased additional replacements, for I've not seen a need, so it has been a couple of years since last purchase. But now I'm wondering about my 4 Canon 5DIIs, knowing manufacturing of those cameras has probably stopped several if not many years ago. I have no plans to switch to R-series cameras, for my mirror camera are providing excellent results. In fact, there are two 4-foot by 6-foot canvas wrap prints on the walls, along with smaller canvas wrap prints. But, knowing the clock-ticks away, and we're getting further and further since the last sale of 5DIIs, I must consider "support items", namely replacement batteries.

So this entire dialogue has suggested to me that perhaps I should consider purchasing additional LP-E6 batteries. And that is the major reason I'm glad I have this organization on hand [although I'd still like to know how the name UGly Hedge HOG came from], and reading the feedback about different brands and the experience you guys and gals have. To which, I say THANK YOU..

E.L., we both are considering the same concept. I won't deny that a name brand batter might be made to a different standard, but I'll put the smart money on the fact that the battery maker runs one major line, with different names put on them.

Paul, what are your thoughts about third party batteries for Canon camera? For me, they would be exclusively be for my Canon 5DII, all (don't shout at me please) four of my 5DIIs.

Has anyone found a "favorite" third-party battery?

I have what one could call a 'pocket' camera. When we went to the Baltic, and our intelligent (then) AG announced that any electronics larger than a cell phone must go into the down in the luggage section, I took this small Lumix camera and took some amazing images, all in RAW. I could not have been happier.

Camerapapi, Being one who paid (majorly) for the first version of Photoshop, and then the funds for every upgrade, I found myself forced to switch. I was looking at Affinity Photo for a few years before switching, and I now reside in Affinity Photo totally, and happy about it.

It appears that there would be a good reason to upgrade to Affinity 2. So here's my concernable question. Did any of you find a conflict with another other software on your system, to include your operating system. Scream at me if you wish, but I'm still using iMac 10.13.6. Previous OPs have been replaced many times. But even in the Apple world, upgrades can ... and often does mean you lose a piece of hardware. So far, a printer, a scanner, and a wacom. Hence, why I stay at 10.13.6. So, has anyone experienced a conflict with (a) your current OP, and (b) what Affinity 2.0 required?

I thank you in advance.

I'm a major fan and user of Affinity Photo. I'm curious to hear the thoughts from those who have upgraded to Affinity Photo 2. Is it a value?
