Thanks! I gave up because the guy who works on our computers doesn't think he can get a monitor and my laptop to match. I'm sad because it's so challenging for me to edit pics on a 17" screen after using a 24" monitor for so long.
Molly is beautiful and that's a great shot of her!
Here's the cable on mine: None of these, you use Hdmi.
Oh Dear! I don't even want to go there. I am currrently backing up on 2 external drives. I figure agter my last experience of loading up the hard drive on my computer that I will just use the 2 external drives and then switch them about each year. I would like to find a good i cloud solution but that's out there after I solve my current problems. At least when I travel with my laptop, I can take just one external. That's one reason I want a larger monitor that will be the same as my laptop so I don't have to edit twice. I think I must be making this more complicated than it needs to be.
I think this one, if it is the right one is only $319.00 from B&H shipping included.
I no longer have a computer, just my laptop.
Sorry, it's late and my mind seems to be a bit foggy. I'm a Nikon shooter who has just gotten a new camera D 800 because my regular one is in for repair and I have no idea when I'm going to get it back. Found a refurb for a great buy. At least I have a camera and tomorrow I'm going to try to start learning it.
Anyone who thinks boats are money pits just isn't taking pictures. ;>)
OOPS! I seemed to have left out a few things in my response. I have no problem between the color on my laptop and the printer that I am using. The problem was we could not get a monitor and my laptop to look the same. I will check with him on what typ of cable he was using. I doubt that many of his customers are into photography like us addicts are. I use JPEG and open my pictures in Adobe Photoshop 9. What I wanted to do was to travel with my laptop and then use the monitor at home, because my eyes aren't what they used to be even after cataract surgery so I love the larger monitors. I have gone a little crazy this year and bought some things I can't really use correctly because of my lack of knowledge, and strength. My husband has with the help of Ron from Feathered Photography made me a transporter from a push golf cart. I have yet to use it because around here I don't neeed it. I'm a novice birder but our sites are not really geared for a lot of hiking and switching equipment. I really wanted it for when we travel to other birding sites.
I am old and just reasoned if I didn't spend it the government was just going to tax it away. I am over 70 so adequate health care may soon be out of reach, so I'm just living every day like it may be my last. WHEEEEE!
Thanks so much for your advice, I really appreciate it.

Thanks so much. Is the the correct monitor that you referred to? I have delt with B&H and have found them quite good.

I don't know and will ahve to check with mycomputer guru and get back to you. We disconnected the olfd Dell monitor and removed it so I don't know. My guru also tried a newer LG monitor (can't remember which one) and it didn't work either. I was hoping to find out what might be compatible and would bel willing to purchase a 23" if I could find one that would work.
My lapton is a Samsung 17" NP70027C-SO1 USCOREI17-36QM/8. I don't have another monitor at this time and am looking to buy one if you have recommendations. My old one was a 23" Dell and my tecky says he can't get it to match the laptop. I was hoping to be able to get a monitor that I could match to my laptop so I could take my laptop0, download and edit pictures and then bring it back to the monitor and not have to edit twice. I certaily not tech savy so I hope this is the info you are looking for.
Thanks!

Thanks! My goal was to get both the laptop and the monitor to match so that I could edit pictures on the laptop when I didn't have access to the monitor.
