That lens did a great job. Will you try stacking next?

Also to help with the alignment, you can look into a laser pen to attach to the camera, works very well. If you are interested, i’ll Get links for what you would need to attach to your camera. Also, i’ve wasted money on lasers, so I could recommend one that will work.

Hello Brian, Craig here. I am definitely interested in that link for the Laser Pen.
I have the same Lens and a Full Frame Nikon Camera. Thank you.

Back to driving off and on. So of course the clear nights are always the ones I have a 4 AM delivery the next day. Or a 9-10 PM pick up. Or both...
But I got everything to work together tonight. So playing again.
Clear sky, moon favorable, mount working (Off and on), So trying my hand again. (Remote)
I sat in my chair out back and got my butt wet doing my alignment outside. Damn cold!
Everything is working up to my usual low standards, sucking turds out of the muck. LOL!

ATIK Color Horizon (OSC) camera and Hutech HEUIB-II filter with a Sky-Watcher 190 Mak-Newt (1000mm f/5.3) on a Celestron CGEM DX mount, unguided.

Processed in PixInsight, Photoshop and Lightroom. All subs were processed as 32 bit images.

The first image was processed from the Live Stacked image. The 2nd image was processed from subs.

I've shot the Crescent several times before BUT this one is probably the best for both reflection and emission nebulosity!

Enjoy!

Some of your best work so far Brian. The best nebulosity!
The Pelican and M51 do give it a run for the money though.

Image of the moon’s far side, taken January 30, 2019, via NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). At the time of this image, LRO was 205 miles (330 km) east of the landing site. Thus the Chang’e 4 lander is only about two pixels across (bright spot between the two arrows), and the smaller Yutu-2 rover is not detectable. For a closer look, see the image below this. The first two images were processed from the Live Stacked image. The 3rd image was processed from subs. In this case I couldn't pull nearly as much image data from the subs as from the Live Stacked image. The last two images have Photoshop HLVG plug-in applied.

Enjoy!

Hey Guys hope you can help. I'll be in Costa Rica May 6th through May 17th. I wanted to capture the Milky way Better this time. I use to have an apt that showed what time the Milky way would rise and fall and from what direction to view, I can't find it any longer. Here in Florida I view from the south, but not sure from CR. The first week I have no moon so hoping to be in the right place at the right time. Your help would be appreciated... Thanks, Martin

I think the guys got you covered on Apps so I'll just agree with you on the phase of the Moon being best the first week. The 6th being the New Moon. Being that far south the best viewing should be straight up to capture the Sagittarius Region. Facing up during May the pre-dawn hours are best.
