Jerry, along the same lines, I used to work with a guy who always answered the question by saying 'Tolerable'.

I'm glad you shared it.
I was totally amazed at how they raised their little butts to shoot outside the nest.

Thank you!

Your story reminded me of a friend, 'Kick Volgers' who was from Den Haag in Holland. Kick had to leave when the Germans invaded and he made it to England and flew for the RAF.
Really good guy, I miss him!

As a native Texan, I can attest that God kept the best place for himself and those lucky ones that reside in that place called Texas.

'Boy Howdy'!!!!
Now go on, and stop telling people about how good Texas is. There are just too many people moving there and ruining what was a wonderful state. Just like what ruined California....too many people!!!

Hi Tom,
I'm glad to hear you were able to buy hearing aids that had the attachment with a sound transmitter.
I wasn't so lucky as I bought my aids just before they came out with that feature and Costco said they couldn't be retrofitted into my aids, so I would have to buy new ones.
Well, you know how that went down after I just laid out 1700.00 for two new ones a year before. So I'm waiting for my aids to break/fail, or just get lost so I can justify buying new ones with the feature you have.

Interestingly, I believe the price for a new set of aids from Costco has gone down by about 100.00.
Whats that old saying? Go broke saving money???

Thanks for keeping me updated on your experience.

I don't understand this "problem". Doesn't every fridge come with ice cube trays? Fill 'em with tap water, stick 'em in the freezer compartment, and after an hour at most, presto! you have sixteen cubes. Dump 'em in a plastic (Ziplock) bag, leave it in the freezer, and repeat the process as often as needed. How hard is that?

And does it matter whether ice is "clear" as long as it's cold?

Guys got too much time on his hands.

Actually the author must have made some good money from doing these two videos as he had over 300,000 views on one test and over 750,000 views on the second video.

Anyone know what u-tube pays to the video producers?

It would be interesting to know if it was worth it for all the work he did.

The videos look ok on a screen until you try to zoom in. And still photos don’t have enough data to be post processed to be sharp when printed and can’t be cropped. I wish there was an inexpensive way to have a camera of the quality we use manually to be set up for motion detection. Even smart phones have better cameras.
So much that is interesting happens at night or when the animals don’t get spooked by humans! And they come up close. I have videos of deer and raccoons sniffing the camera. And a wonderful video of a doe nursing her fawn. But with low resolution I can’t make prints.

I second your frustration with all the trail cameras I've tried. I also agree that we need to get a better way of taking nighttime photos and videos of wildlife. Does anyone know of something available?
Glad you brought this subject up.

I've been using a Busnell 119716cw for about a year, and while it is fun to see the animals, the picture quality is poor. The model is labeled "16mp", but in reality it has only a 3mp sensor.(you have to read the manual to figure that out) I read one article about trail cameras that said that is true of all of them until you get to the quality used by magazine photographers or scientists who spent $10,000+.
Does anyone have info on outdoor motion/heat detector cameras that have better sensors? Most trail cameras are in the $100-$300 range, but the sensors are not described. There a few that take stills and video at the same time going for about $3000. I don't need to take stills if I could get really good video. I can't find much info on the true quality of cameras sold for security, but prices lead me to guess they are similar quality to trail cams.

I'm interested in any replys too as I use a Browning trail camera. While daylight photos are great I'm finding more fun watching all the animals here at night. Because of the lag in trigger speed I find video is the only way to get a decent view but even so I suffer the same problems as you.
My camera is a Browning Recon Force but be aware you have to use the expensive AA Lithium batteries as other batteries quit in Browning cameras when used to when they have about 75% charge left. Pretty expensive if you try to get by just using Alkaline batteries.

I like to see a flag flapping around on a windy day. These big flags hardly move. QUOTE

Many of the car dealerships in north Texas fly very large flag on the order of that flag in NC. The wind is normally medium (opinion) in north central Texas and the flags are made of a material that is very lightweight. The flags therefore wave nicely and all of them are lit at night so they can be seen whenever anyone drives past.
If the NC flags just hang limp then I would be perturbed at seeing that. When flags are designed correctly using a light weight material, and flown correctly, like the car dealerships in Texas, then they look wonderful.
In my experience, the flags at the dealers do not appear to wear out rapidly even tho they seem to be lightweight as they wave at even a light breeze.

Is that possible? I mean a light breeze in north Texas??

I agree.
Why use a negative term when the discussion was entirely civil up until that term was tossed in.
Bad form, IMO.

Nice job! Take Five is my ringtone! Best jazz piece ever published!

Milestones is my ringtone and I love it but I'd take yours anytime too.

Just wonderful to hear so many good tunes from the 50-60s time frame. I enjoyed those musicians back then.

Just can't get excited about most everything I hear now.
