Shanghai street life...
Imagine having no food, no money, no place to live and being so ashamed, you can not even look at the people you are begging to. This is a reality for many here in China and it is a place where there are the "haves", in the background with nice clothes and obviously going on a trip, and the "have nots". I shot this photo and a woman got very angry with me, but as a photojournalist, I feel I am obligated to photograph the things that I feel are compelling and that the world needs to see. This to me, is one of those situations. I also gave him money as well.

This can be seen in all the big city in the USA too!
Thank you Pixeldawg, the reality of the poor exist all over the world. Sad as it is.
Yes, here too (Philadelphia).
IMHO, the photographer's role is to present reality to our viewers without prejudice and without disrespect.
BTW, your picture is well composed.

Except that in America they aren't very "humbled or ashamed"... think Squeegie Guy at the traffic light.
A great shot! Well composed and exposed.
Very impressed with your work - keep it up.

A picture worth a thousand words. Well done.
I've been following your posts and they are quite accomplished. Photojournalism is an art form in itself and a very important one at that. I look forward to seeing more of your work on the forum.
WOW! What a kind thing for you to say. I appreciate your interest. It is really an honor for me to share these and again, thank you so much for your kind words and interest in my images.
