The Cicada Killer Wasp prays on cicadas (locust) here in pennsylvania in the summer months. The wasp stings the cicadas and injects them with its venom then carries it back to their nest. They build a nest in the ground boring a hole and lay their eggs. they feed the cicadas to their larve.

Trapped the Wasp in a butterfly net and placed it in the freezer for 1/2 hr. Then i took it out and posed the wasp for the photos.Being in the freezer incapacitated the wasp for about 15 min until it started moving.
