The other day I saw the term SOOC used in discussing a topic. Couldn't locate that discussion. Can someone explain the meaning of those letters.
Thanks,
Whatdat

straight out of camera - unedited by any post processing software. This is usually, but not always, a jpeg file. It is never a raw file.

Interchangeable with OOC (out of camera).
There is no such thing as NO processing, unless you shoot only jpeg and never even crop. At a minimum the image is converted from RAW to jpeg or another format that can be worked with, printed, posted etc. And when that happens the image is changed according to the presets (in camera jpeg has a bunch of processing presets also).

I'm not trying to discourage asking questions, but many times, you can get a quick and accurate answer, particularly for acronyms, by asking google. For example, "sooc photography" returned 321,000 results in 0.41 seconds with SOOC being correctly defined as the top result.

I would say that shooting raw and turning it into a jpeg upon exporting would qualify as SOOC, if we are going to nitpick. The camera does plenty of processing in body.

Still better than the question "Which camera should I buy?".

But the resultant JPEG still came straight out of the camera.
(Doesn't matter what the camera did to the RAW as everyone's settings can be different.)

Thanks. Had an idea what it meant; just didn't want to use the term sometime and look like I didn't know what I'm talking about. At my age not knowing what you are talking about can be a hazard.

Thanks all.

At my age, that is standard. I know this because my wife tells me.
