OK, Bill....here it comes: "a vapor of the light/idea" looks to me like 'ectoplasm'.
"deleted/not/yet" looks like an ectoplasm fetus
"the idea was never that clear (nailed/it)" looks like ectoplasm getting ready to stab a bird (ectoplasm also)
"nailed/it/smelled/it/again"-ectoplasm leaving
