Been chasing this guy for some time now ......and Kestrels in general for MANY years now
But today I was very persistent and careful.....
These are big crops - even with 500mm's - and technically leave me wanting
But, with this subject, it IS the content that counts and I am therefore somewhat content
- and surprised that I got what I got considering the speed challenge !
Sony A77II, Minolta 500 AF mirror lens from car pod in decent light....
I WILL be pursuing this guy some more in the future for sure !
..
Beautiful animal. Nicely done.

Oh man Larry! The subject is what counts but these are not technically wanting in any way. The crops work, the detail and color are great and they are sharp where they need to be. You caught wonderful action.....just very cool work! They are such a fine bird and I have chased them for a long time too my friend. I'm very happy for you.
Awwwww, I got one this morning and I was sort of proud of it until I saw yours..................
Larry, very well done. I know how hard they are to capture. We've had a large seasonal influx of them the last couple of years but I have yet to get a keeper photo. They are SO small and SO shy.
Nice work, Maestro! Taking the rig out again this week. Not hoping to capture anything as elusive as your beautiful capture.
