Last Saturday at 11:50 PM I was finishing up my order for a Canon Pro-1000 printer. It usually lists for $1299 and includes a free pack of paper. Currently Canon has a rebate program for this and other
printers effective till 3/31 - on this printer it's $300 by an American Express card. PLUS - B&H Promo for code BHWPPI18 reduced the price by another $200. Bottom line, $1300 printer for $800. BUT -While completing the online order the B&H promo expired at 12 AM - if I had checked out at that point printer price was now $1000.

Happy ending - I immediately wrote an email to the sales dept. and today, at 11:30 AM. I received an answer that Yes, I could still get the discount of $200. I just completed my order
THANKS B&H, no company is perfect but my dealings have also been very positive with this store!

BTW, anyone have any tips/tricks/hints regarding the Canon Pro-1000?

I have always found them to be very responsive and very reasonable. Enjoy your new printer!

That has been typical of my dealings with them.

At least ever since they move out of the loft, and that was a long time ago.

Most welcome! Glad we were able to save this one for you. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to put in a good word for us. It makes all of our efforts worthwhile.

Enjoy the printer.

If you print with non Canon paper, download the printer profiles for your particular paper.
If you print with Epson paper, forget it, set printing properties to let printer manage colors. Epson and Canon's printer profiles do not play together.

No, usually the OP is someone had an issue with B&H, and he complained here instead of calling them and getting it settled. This time, B&H did something good, and the OP wanted is to hear about it. If everyone who had a good experience with B&H posted here, everything else would be crowded off the front page.

At the risk of crowding responses off the page, I just wanted to say that over many years, I have received excellent customer service from B&H, such that I do 90% of my photo business with them. Pleasant & helpful.

I have dealt with B&H for years as well as Adorama
Never had bad experience with either and if I had an issue it was resolved quickly
I do get perplexed when some on this board express anger when they close Friday PM and Saturday to celebrate the sabbath
Curious how this has a negative effect on anyone’s wellbeing
B&H keep up the great work
Their store is unreal
One finds many things they do not NEED but want
A candy store for photographers

I respect religious beliefs of all religions: Christian,Muslim, Jewish, whatever-- and have no problem with businesses that observe their holy customs. I do not celebrate Christmas, but don't get perplexed if my favorite stores are closed on Christmas, Easter, or Sundays.

We have become an instant gratification society. A local supermarket chain here closes extra hours around Thanksgiving (*), Christmas, etc, but locals plan around that because they understand management really does care about employees and their families.

(*) they are open a few hours in the morning to accommodate last minute needs.

That's an outstanding printer but you should start planning on buying ink. The initial loading of the ink tubes requires 1/2 of the ink. The print quality is outstanding but I only use Cannon supplies. The 1000 is a large printer so you will need a lot of desk space. It's important to set it up correctly. It will take some time but follow the steps and you will be fine. Good luck and have fun
