People upload photos to get views. Otherwise what is the point in taking the time and effort to do so? I enjoy looking at other peoples offerings. Please keep those cards and letters coming in! B^)

The time and effort to do so are primarily for my OWN enjoyment. If others enjoy them, thats cool. If others dont, thats cool too. I dont like to actively hunt or chase others to force them to view my images, but if others do that its fine by me. Thats of course my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Congratulations Scott! (On another note, why get down on the guy. He was simply sharing good news. We all miss speak. Look past the words and look at the heart. And be sides, it is humbling to have even one follower! I'd be excited too and want to share the good news.)

I hear you. Its funny how some people, who have NEVER posted a single image here, call me jealous. Please, grow up, its not kindergarten anymore. What some here are celebrating is misplaced bragging and fake humbleness. If that is what you want to do, shame on you. An idiot even tried to compare my Flickr views to the OP's. I joined in 2013.....the OP in 2005. Thats 13 years...... Also he has been quite occupied following more thab 600 photographers there.....who, of course following back. That will make your images exposed to a lot of more viewers and that is a good thing dont get me wrong. In my case I am not interested in been widely recognized. This to me is just one of my many hobbies. In 5 years Ive gathered more than 300,000 views and I dont really care.... Are those views a good thing? Are they bad? Really dont care, but I bet the same idiot who tried to go there wished to at least have a half of those. I know the quality of my work and I am VERY satisfied with my images....perhaps jealousy comes from other places? Who knows? Again I dont really care.

People have been preoccupied to be politically correct at all times that they end up promoting all this hypocrisy and dishonesty. If I see something I dont like is better to shut up and move to another thread....and why is that? Why can I tell it like it is? Who are you to dictate when to speak and when to shut up? I bet a LOT here think as I do but choose to not say anything to avoid the usual hypocritical and butt kissing bandwagon here. From time to time is healthy to shake the tree and see what comes down. I see here that a lot of shoes fell down....and found its users.
I hear you. Its funny how some people, who have NE... (show quote)

So why do you post on flicker?

Another delicate wildflower. Perhaps you should consider joining a church forum? There is no hypocrisy there at all.....oh wait.

Its a great way to share my images across many platforms for starters. It serves also as a great back up for my preferred images and its excellent to share them when I want to. Anything else?

How in the world do you hunt or chase others to force them to do anything, here? You are reading way too much into this thread regarding the OP's pride and joy for having millions of viewers on Flickr. He was thankful for his accomplishments. Plain and simple. Cheers.

Not here. That can be easily done in Flickr. Of course you need good images if not its not going to work. You start following a lot of photographers. Most of them will follow you back. Its starts to grow exponentially and your images begin to circulate in the community. Every time a person sees one of your images it counts as a view. Now you do the math. OP has great images, no doubt but reaching a high number of views its not as difficult as some believe. A great part of it comes from actively following others.

In my stream I dont have even half of the followers as the OP. I dont actively seek for them. Im not interested really. There is one member here who has an absolutely wonderful stream. I will not said his name. He joined in 2007 but has only 50 something persons he is following. His views are in the 500,000. Why? It seems he is not actively seeking followers. In my case when I reach the same years as a member my guess my views would be also in the 500,000....and I really could care less.

The OP should be more proud of his work than his views....again, thats my opinion.

If you don't toot your own horn who will do it for you?

I, personally, want to see someone's successes and hopefully learn from them.

And I'm glad we have such prolific and accomplished shooters here as I wasn't sure I wanted to be in a forum that would have me as a member.

IMO, others, if possible. But I see your point.
