John, thanks for sharing the images and for the info. My March trip is coming up and if I can shake this flu-bug, I hope to get a shot-or-two.

Lots of cameras there - the shots look great in double download.

Not only does everyone have a camera (mostly cell phones) but many were sitting on the edge looking down to get their pictures with their legs dangling over the edge. No handrails, no barriers of any kind, just a 1000 ft drop or so to the river below. Beautiful area, quite a long but easy hike to get there. Worth the effort.

Very nice images jaymatt!

Thanks for looking, and you’ll want to get a lot of shots. It’s a beautiful place.

Thanks for looking. How many folks were standing on the edge amazed me, too. I have a balance problem in my old age, but that wasn’t going to stop me: I crawled out there and hung over the edge with my camera.

The only thing I regret is that it was late afternoon and I have some lens flare in my photos. But I certainly don’t regret doing it.

I laid on my stomach reaching over as far as I could make myself- still not quite over the edge though- just couldn't do it. I'm not fond of heights! I wondered later if the view would have been complete if I had climbed up one of the nearby hills- what do you think?

It's near Page, Arizona. You will need at least a 14mm lens on a full frame camera to get all of the horseshoe in your photo. While in Page you also have to visit Antelope Canyon near by.

Lake Powell is in Page too. I understand if you rent a boat and go out a ways there are beautiful rock formations and coves to explore. Next time!
