Very good.....but the link I sent will tell you how to transfer a photo directly to wood.....no engraving involved......a different technique.

"needlessly complicated" is part of my problem. I am considering hiring someone with the skills to edit the photos the way I need them for laser engraving.

Thanks for the links anyway. I realized what you were suggesting and dug further into my google search. I found a few tutorials that may be useful.

Tell me about it! I took a course in photoshop cc. Instructor made things needlessly complicated; plus it was capable of doing much more than I needed. Trying to learn lightroom. As a backup, using nikon vnx2 for post processing.. Will keep on trying to learn lightroom.

It takes so much energy having to defend yourself sometimes when your motive in the first place was just trying to help. Sometimes if you don't dot your tees and cross your eyes perfectly you can expect to be slammed.
