Nikon D500 LCD problem

My one year old Nikon D500, just out of warranty, developed vertical colored line on the right 1/3 of the screen. It does not affect the pics. There is no history of any impact or injury to the camera. Any spot diagnosis?

It is an LCD failure. Very comon after a drop typically. Can also be caused by exposure to extreme heat.

Did you buy it with a credit card? Most cards add an extra year to the warranty of products purchased on them.

I had gone on a Dhow cruise and am sure that there was no impact or exposure to high temperature. I just changed battery and it happened. Hard start did not help. I bought it with a debit card but my seller says that the warranty expired on 24 Oct 2017.

BTW, there is no external injury to the LCD. Some wise person told me that the problem may be with data cable.

Did you happen to leave your camera in the sun? If not covered by your CC at this point, looks like a trip to the repair shop for a replacement LCD. I hope you have a back up body with the holidays just around the corner, bad time to be without a camera. Good luck...

Why would your "seller" have any say on your warranty???
Did you buy a grey market camera ? They have no Nikon warranty but sometimes are sold with a "sellers warranty" which is usually worthless.

Condensation inside the camera at one time or another?

I bought from Nikon dealer in Dubai- but here they offer only one year warranty on camera.

I did not leave it uncovered at anytime. I do have another Pentax K7. I sent a mail to nikon auth center here but they would be accepting the camera for repairs after 08 Jan as the tech is travelling... strange.

ALWAYS buy major items with a credit card.

Exposure to extreme heat and Dubai seem to go hand in hand.

Before people jump on the gray market band wagon, where do you reside? If you reside in Dubai, check with Nikon about the warranty.
