Is there anyone on here that is knowledgeable on drones? I'm in the market and not willing to have to mortgage my house to get one if you know what I mean. My range is $250.00 to $300.00 =/-. I've bought 2 over the past year. Cheap ones and they couldn't even be trimmed out to fly so sent both back and got refunds. My search continues. Yes I do want one with a camera and hopefully the return home feature. I know nothing else about them, brands or quality. ONLY someone in the know reply!!!!

Thanks in advance

Charles

I gave up on the 'WalMart' drones and went to the $1100+ drones; more battery life, better cameras, video, etc. Best to suck it up and get yourself a real drone, no toys!

You might contact B&H they have quite an assortment and given their stellar customer service I imagine could answer any questions you may have.

I'll try that and thank you. I have used them before. My price range is set and not up for discussion or debate. Just FYI for others. :-)

I've been using drones professionally for a year now. It's not worth going to Costco, Walmart, Target, etc to get a drone with a camera with quality video. Like others, I sucked it up and bought DJI Mavic Pro. Well worth it. DJI has a new one out called DJI: Spark. Excellent drone for a few hundred less. Google it. I'm sure B&H carries it.

B&H is too expensive. Go to Amazon and save 30%.

I agree, DJI is the only way to go now. Yes, you will pay for it, but you will never regret it. In a long run, if you keep buying the cheapo's, you will end up spending the money for a good one, in the end, so, save up your money, and go the best to start with.

I fly a SOLO from 3DRobotics, but company has gone rogue on consumer support and only deal commercially. Too bad, as it is an excellent drone. (I fly a GoPro camera and use the GoPro Black on a 3-axis, controllable gimbal.

Check out the Hubsan products - they have a decent camera as well as both the FPV and RTH features you are looking for. Price might be $50 above your budget but this is a real drone not a toy.

I'll check this out. Does it have the "return to me" or whatever it's called feature? Thanks for being courteous and paying attention to the required price guidelines.

Here is a good review of the Hubsan drone. You might want to watch it, before you purchase.....

That was a very good review and looks easy to fly. I appreciate the link. Looking on Amazon, I also see this one. Looks like the same but the professional version for a bit more but still in my price range. Here is the link: Your thoughts please?

I looked at both models, and frankly, I don't see any difference between them, so, I asked the manufacturer what the difference was/is. No response yet. I'll post as soon as I get an answer!

You had better readjust your price range if you want something that works. You can not even purchase a camera for that price. If you just buy for price, you will get what you pay for, cheap crap from China.

This was also my choice, when it came time to move up from a toy-grade quad... I would love to have one with a gimbal-mounted camera, but they tend to be a lot more expensive. The hubsan is easy to fly, and it comes with a decent remote control which has a small built-in screen to let you see what the quad is looking at, plus display details of what it is doing.

I first purchased a DJI spark, but had to send it back when neither of my phones would work with it - you need a phone along with their supplied remote. It was also 3 times the price of the hubsan...

I don't think you will be disappointed in the hubsan. It takes 1080P photos (jpeg only) and shoots decent video too. My only problem is that (because there is no gimbal) when shooting video there is a pronounced 'bob' of the camera when the quad stops or changes direction.
