Sanctuary City does not mean that an illegal immigrant can commit any crime and not be reported to ICE. However, it is my feeling that a comprehensive immigration policy that would decide the fate of all 11 million illegal immigrants now residing in the U.S. should be adopted after which the aggressive deportation of all others should take place which should include the elimination of sanctuary cities.

Do you really think that will eliminate their need to protect illegals at all cost including citizens rights ??

It would not have to impact citizens' rights. However, the lack of documentation would reveal those in the country illegally. The inability to understand English would also be a key as to whom to check. It is my estimation that those allowed to stay in the country will be given green cards. I also anticipate a worker program.

I am one of those who believes that it is not only impossible but immoral to deport all 11 million illegal immigrants for various reasons. However, I also believe that it is not right that all of them be allowed to remain in this country. The question is how to identify who should be allowed to remain and who should be returned to their home country. In my mind I have two classes of individuals that we could start with that could be allowed to stay. #1 Qualifying DACA individuals, and #2 Those who have been here 2-3 decades, have established families, maybe grandparents already, perhaps already 50 years old. Why not just let them live out their lives? The trick, then, is identifying the categories of those individuals in between.

Do you actually believe the number is 11 million, personally I don't think that number comes anywhere close.

Why didn't those who have been here for decades become citizens, though? Was it because they didn't want to pay for it? Or lazy? I would think if they like it here so much, they would have tried to avoid all this type of thing by becoming citizens.

I have no idea, Blurry, but sealing the border and addressing the problem is the only way to deal with the problem. Some individuals who are contributing to this country and have been here for prolonged periods are being deported leaving families behind. I have to believe that a cohesive policy would protect some of them. However, some legislators are so stuck in the position that it is totally wrong to allow any of them to stay that I have to question whether there will be any resolution of the problem.....which developed by failing to implement fully immigration law in the past.

To qualify for citizenship they would have had to apply for a green card before coming here, not collect government assistance, speak english and be a legal resident in good standing for 5 years before applying for citizenship.

It developed because both parties refused to enforce immigration, it is pretty apparent, even the refusal to implement e-verify speaks loudly as to how seriously political leadership takes immigration. Face it, our politicians don't give a shit about what the people they rule think. Case in point, the current situation regarding O'care, for 8 years the asshole republicans in congress told us that they would repeal a bill that many American's feel is unconstitutional, one that limits our choices regarding healthcare and requires citizens to purchase a product that we don't want, yet given the power to do so they stick their middle fingers in our faces.....

There will be no immigration reform, there will be no wall or enduring enforcement, no e-verify, however there will be DACA and there will be another middle finger.

That and the fact that they've been taking advantage of all the benefits that living here gives them, (and for so many years) really makes them the top priority to be deported, IMO.

Deport them to the province of California. They love their illegals.

Personally, you're just running scared. Maybe it's only 5 million???
Maybe it's 20 million. Who cares!
I'm sure your state has a labor surplus, ours doesn't.
CA needs to immediately issue legal work permits, not run its labor force out of the country, legal or illegal.
That woman in the video is an extreme militant WACKO and should be ashamed of herself. She's on a personal crusade. It has nothing to do with sanctuary cities. What she needs is counciling, not demonizing every person in this country that got here the same way her parents did!!! What a loser!!!
Sanctuary cities are designated by individual city councils, not some sweeping wand.
I'll bet she goes city to city, crying her pathetic ass off at every meeting!
Councils love bitches like her. They say, "here comes another pathetic, lunatic axe grinder, from who knows where, to tell us what's best for OUR community!!!".
If she wants to make a change, she needs to run for councilperson in here city, or state Rep for her district, or State Senate, or Governer!!!
But she's probably only good for bitching and crying, not actually doing!
Why don't all you conservatives here send her a few thousand dollars each so she can get a decent shrink and get her twisted head fixed!!!
I have zero sympathy for idiots like her!

Sorry, didn't watch the video and don't really care about the video, just like the left the right trots out extreme antidotal bull shit to get people worked up. Actually, I'm pretty certain that 11 million is only a fraction of the number of the undocumented here in this country. As far as your support for sanctuary cities? I consider them not only to be in violation of our constitution but also to be challenging the supremacy of federal law, I think that with time the courts will straighten this out. I can't help but think of Arizona a few years back and the Obama administration coming down on them for aiding the federal government in the enforcement of our immigration laws, the courts were very clear that the federal government reigns supreme in the matter of immigration and enforcement. The current situation where federal judges are bringing their political prejudices into the court when considering anything Trump will not survive the Supreme Court, we are already seeing this. Immigration will be no different than the restrictions placed on the middle eastern and African nations.
