ISIS and Al Qaeda aren't countries, they're criminal bands. But do you think they'd be a threat, if we weren't over there? The only reason we're in the Middle East, is to ensure a cheap supply of oil. Islamic terrorist groups, are just as active in parts of Africa, but they have no oil.

You didn't qualify your question to countries. If it was about oil, we would have been justified to take the Iraqi oil. But we did not and it allowed ISIS to move in and have it.

You're correct, I didn't make myself clear. Why would we be justified to take Iraqi oil? Why were we there?

What do these 200,000 American's dying of emphysema have to do with this. What is the cause of the emphysema? Smoking? That is a choice they made. Not my problem.
there are over 11 million Americans with Emphysema and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD),primarily caused by smoking

... if you had read ALL of my words, I said that 200,000 Americans died each year due to air pollution , NOT smoking (with millions throughout the world)

We spent a lot of money liberating the Iraqi people from Saddam. Just like having control over Japan after the war, we were entitled to take some oil to offset the cost. The problem arose when Obummer's plan, to pull out before the prior was done, allowing ISIS to move in and take over the oil which funds their activities.

What right did we have, to liberate the Iraqi people?

It was a moral issue as Saddam was killing his people much like al-Assad is doing in Syria.
Why is this news to you ??

We still occupy Germany and Japan.
I had an uncle who was a spy in the 60's and he said if we were not still in Germany at that time they would be rearming to start a new Reich.
You can't go in, destroy the government and then pull out. Libya also comes to mind as another obummer failure.

As long as they're no threat to us, what right have we got, to enforce our way of life on them? They are a primitive culture. We did some pretty crappy things before we got to the stage we're at now.

It had nothing to do with forcing anything on them.
It was to stop the mass murder being committed by Saddam with his WMD's.

I don't believe it was that. Our first jaunt into Iraq, was a response to them invading Kewait, and threatening our supply of cheap oil. The second time, Was supposedly in response to 9/11. I personally think GWB used that as an excuse to go back and finish what his father had started. Incidentally, I think 9/11 was in response to American support of Israel.

Whatever provoked it, we were intent on knocking it down until Obummer got in with his Muslim Brotherhood policy.

What were we planning to replace it with?
