Nice set.
It used to be a cheap way of living. Now the house boats -often large caravans on floats are as expensive as a house (£290,000) for one in Chichester. One of the major drawbacks is carrying everything to them. Especially if you are the furthest from the bridge. We had some small floating 'pontoons' that you pulled across by rope. Now Health and safety have stopped them. On the other hand, as most of the canals up your way are still open one could travel right across the country and wake up to a different view every day!

Have fun
