It seems like the forecast has been like this for more than a year now...I guess the new norm here in cloudy southern cal. Sonny, don't get excited over that Saturday 2/25 date of sunshine, the evening Calls for clouds.

No clear weather here!!! This is the forecast for Morgan Hill, CA, where my night sky efforts will remain in suspended animation. We have Lake Anderson here which has some faults for which they decided to limit how much water to allow it to hold for earthquake concerns. (I think somewhere around 70% if I remember correctly). And today it is 99.3% and still rising. So water is arriving faster than they can let it out! Now the bad news on the letting of it out is that downstream from the dam is my favorite place to go to take pictures of water birds. But the rain washed out the little bridge to get into this area, so can't do that either.

The good news is that I finally retired this afternoon!

The bad news is that I have a really bad cold and wouldn't want to go out even if I could.

Yes, it was extended for a total of 11 months! It was always just a "Can you hold off on your retirement just a bit longer, we need such and such job done first?". But its now official, and I had the obligatory going away cake and ice cream this afternoon. Then took my laptop up to the IT group, turned in my access card, and suddenly it dawned on me that I no longer was employed!

Well, with 11 months of extra paychecks, I did splurge into some additional toys and I will need to try things out as I get some clear skies again -- don't know what month that is going to be? But I am definitely out of the new toy business now. Have to live with what I have.

Wish you lots of time to enjoy and barring our skies, no reason not to be posting lots of pix.
