Orion Constellation from Hanga Roa

This was the one clear night and I was in town so the light was poor for night sky photos. Notice anything different?

Yeah. I think you need to put a 'this side up' sticker on your camera...

Hanga Roa, Rapa Nui. (Easter Island) Southern Hemisphere.

You have to be right skylane the Southern Hemisphere is the only place to get it upside down.

I had to brighten your image up a bit to see anything, sorry about that (attached).

Yup, from somewhere south of the equator...

Nice framing with the spotlights!

Thanks for the photo edit. The Tapati Festival going on and I couldn't get out of town. The lights are from that festival and I just got lucky since this was in the middle of Hanga Roa, the almost only town on Easter Island. Thanks for looking.

Yes, a very nicely shaped UFO. And the spotlights welcoming that UFO to Easter Island too. You are going to need a much larger, I mean a really much larger, lens hood to keep all that light out of the image.

I used a 14-24, f2.8 ... no hood ... I'm screwed. Some forces are too powerful to oppose!
