My heart is melting...Really. Great. Shots. They should do the trick, me thinks, in getting them adopted. Did my bit in adopting two Calico sisters from the local shelter 4 years ago. Honestly, it wouldn't be a home without them.

I posted a few of mine about a week ago. You did a great job; so keep it up.
Only piece of advise I can give you is don't try and do this alone. Have at least one other person helping. You can't control a cat and take a shot at the same time. If the cat is in a cage then maybe i could do it alone. However you run the risk of the cat jumping out of the cage and off you go.
One other point shot jpeg and do slow continues shooting.

Thanks, philden! Heart melting is what we want. I sure hope it helps, and I'm glad you love your shelter cats.

Thanks for the tips, philo! I did have help, husband was with me, and my daughter in law who is a volunteer there was our "wrangler". It would be very difficult to do alone, especially the dogs (which I will post later).

I was asked by a local animal shelter to take some photos of animals to put on line to help with their adoption. We were given a room with fluorescent light, not the optimal, but here's a few that we did. I tried to get down to their level, but it's not easy as they are nervous and mobile, and I'm old and stiff. BIF is a walk in the park compared to these guys. Any tips and C&C would be welcome to help with the next session. Dogs are even harder than cats because they are so starved for attention. I'm only posting cats here. I was asked to do a face shot and body shot. I had to clean dog snot off of my lens several times. I was surprised that 75% of the dogs there are pit bulls or pit bull mixes. I'll post some of them later.

Being a cat lover myself, you made some wonderful captures that make you smile. I just LOVE them! Other cat lovers will see these beauties and sales will begin. CIAO, AP

Very nice photos. My wife would enjoy doing the same type of volunteer work, but I wont let her. She would bring the cats home one by one for studio shots, but never return any of them. All our pets come from a shelter. They are our senior-years children who think they own this house.

You have done a great job. Your double pics are the "cats meow" for showing off their personalities. I agree with the BIF statement. I do work for our local shelter too. They want to have the cats kept away from other cats and area that the cats are pictured in must be sanitized between shots. Since there are so many cats to be photographed I shoot them in their condos. Not ideal at all.

Thanks Leon S! I have to have my husband along to keep me reined in, I'd love to take them all. Shelter animals make the best pets.

Thanks, HillbillyHiker! I appreciate your kind remarks. I'm glad you do this also, and can relate. It's a challenge, but worth it.

Nice photos. Thanks for getting involved and helping out. I am always looking for ways to help others with my photography. As a side note, both of my dogs are rescues, but I'm not sure who rescued who.
