My wife and I have been taking nice trips to scenic destinations in the US, Canada, and Europe for a couple years now. I have lots of photos from them - mountains, canyons, waterfalls and the like. Our last trip was to Norway in December. One of the places we visited was Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), which juts out over the Lysefjord near Stavanger. It is about a 4 km hike from a parking area. When I am at a spot like this I am carrying a camera or two and a tripod, so I guess I look a bit more serious about photos than the average tourist. I often get asked to take other people's picture with their camera, and this time it was by a 20 +/- year old girl from Poland. I told her sure, but she would have to return the favor. I wish it had been more sunny in general, but I though I would see what you all think of the shot of my wife and I at the rock.

Beautiful capture of a beautiful scene, but those people sitting up there are M.A. D. Mad.

If it had been more sunny the photo might be too contrasty - this is gorgeous. And if it had been more sunny you might have seen more clearly that there is a HUGE freakin' drop-off there! I do not like heights - I would have had to crawl on my hands and knees to even peek over the edge - what a great photo THAT would make!

That gives me the shivers. Are they real people sitting there? I see two problems: getting into that position and getting back up.

Beautiful shot.

Is this what you call "living on the edge". You are not only crazy but you now have a photo to prove it. But what a great photo!

Not to mention the third problem - just *being* there!

Honest, that's really the wife and I. We did the same thing at the Grand Canyon.

You are MUCH more daring than I am! 😳 But, what great shot! Hope you have a print made for your wall at home. Wow!
