We were swimming in a pond in a campground that was made with dam where a river went into the ocean. The water was still pretty cool.

First, I have to tell you Peggy's Cove is the absolutely best place to go if you like to shoot boring-ass, cliche, set-up so a drooling moron can capture them, images. The day we went it was so crowded we didn't even get out of our car.

The rest of NS and Cape Breton are wonderful! It rained quite a bit while we were there, but that just enhanced the depth of the mood. I was surprised at an earlier responder's comment about opportunities to shoot along the Cabot Trail; I found there were many pull-offs and that when I couldn't find one to match me desire to shoot, traffic was sparse and drivers understanding, so shooting was easy.

I also can't remember the name of the bog, but it was well marked and worth walking. Everywhere you go, just keep your eyes peeled, and you'll find some incredible subjects for your photography. It's a wonderful place. Embrace "off the beaten path detours." One other note: We took the ferry from/to Portland and loved it. We rented a cabin for the overnight cruise to NS and just bummed around on the ship for the daytime return.

You might want to check out Meat Cove on the northern tip. Great views. We even watched humpback whales feeding from the cliff tops.
