This shot was taken in 2010 when some friends from Michigan visited. As the day went on the skies got angry. As we passed the Washington monument this is what it looked like. I have been going through some pictures looking for dramatic shots. Thinking of doing a book of dramatic shots. Does this one fit that profile?

Nice photo Al. I love stormy skies. Do you plan to do any editing on this photo, and if so, what?

I took the liberty of tone-mapping your image using Nik HDR Efex Pro 2, and with minimal effort ended up with the angriest sky you've ever seen. The data is all there; all you have to do is click your mouse twice. If you'd like, I can post my result.

Nice shot but I think I'd call it "threatening" rather than Angry. At least the monument was free of that scaffolding that marred its attractiveness for years.

I like the photo. At a camera club meeting one of the members mentioned using a red filter to make a storm sky look more dramatic. You may want to try?? I have no experience with this...just passing along the tip.

Good shot Al, in 8th grade I walked up all those steps.
