I did a search and didn't find this question answered, so has anyone used both programs and is there any real advantage of upgrading from version 11 to 12?
Thanks for any input.

The only reason I went from PSE10 is Adorama had a one day sale for PSE12 at $45

Having done that, I am now devoted to working almost exclusively in Perfect Photo Suite 8.

Rob, for me there was. The feature in 12 that I like best (at least for now) is the Content Aware Move Tool.
Took the kids and the dog to the park over Christmas and of course managed to get one of the kids grow a tree out of the top of her head! Just moved the whole tree, copied and pasted a piece of trunk so it ended up looking like it was growing behind a shrub and everyone was happy.
It took me all of about 30 seconds to move and another 30 to extend the tree-trunk... I think it took longer to write this message ;-)
Another feature that I likely will be using regularly: My "have-it-with-me-always" is a Lumix Panasonic P&S, which of course doesn't take RAW images. You can now open a jpg image going directly to that step, instead of having to go through "Open As"... bonus for those images where especially exposure are an issue.
I have PSE11 and will wait to see what Adobe does with 13. Nothing added to 12 that compels me to make the move. ;)
I have been using PSE since vs 3. But I, too, don't jump at buying every vs. Adobe issues a new vs just about once a year. So, I created my own rule: I buy every other vs. I'm on the "odd" cycle with vs11, so I'll most likely get vs13. An exception would be if reports indicate the next version (even numbered vs in my case) has significantly improved/many new features. So far, that has not happened.
This is my way of saving a few bucks.

I did pay $40 to upgrade from 11 to 12 and would not do it again (I liked 11 better but it is a one way switch).
I recently downloaded an evaluation copy of Corel's PaintShopPro and may choose to switch but not immediately. Did like what I've seen so far. Still have concerns on the organizer though

One way switch of your choice?
You can install as many versions of PSE on the same computer as you like, as long as you have the hard drive space and meet the other specs. Right now I have 9, 11 and 12 on my laptop and 9 and 12 on the desktop. No problems at all.

Awesome info, thanks. Dirtpusher recommended a YouTube video, that I found and is waiting on another tab for me to spend the 30 minutes to see how the two compare, but these sound intriguing.
Thanks everyone for your input. It's validating what I thought, not enough improvement to switch. I'll make up my mind when I watch that youtube video.
THANKS AGAIN!

The blur tool is still there: In the toolbin under ENHANCE, it looks like a blue waterdrop, or a blue triangle or a white hand, to click on. You then select the blue waterdrop in the Tool Options bar at the bottom.
