Viruses??

Has any UHH members been getting notices on their mobile phones or tablets warning of a virus being detected on their device? This has happened a few times to me and my cell phone had to be reformatted the other day. This seems to happen when there is a disgruntled member being an idiot. I'm just wondering if there is a member(s) trying to get back at the UHH executive or was someone barred recently? Ray.

Since barred members cannot post anything to the forum, I am leery of that reasoning. Have you identified a specific virus or malware?

No. I should have written down what it was telling me to do. It wanted me to put in an emergency no. as a password. I think the message was to dial 911, which I wouldn't do,and it would not shut off. I eventually had to call the manufacturer of the phone and they led me through re-formatting the phone. This took a few hours. Since then while on the forum I have got messages telling that a virus is attempting to to take over my phone and also my tablet Both are android's.

As soon as I left this site and went to another answering a question I had asked about my recently acquired 100-400L lens I got a warning on my phone of a virus infecting my phone. It said the name of the virus was 'Tapsnake' and it's infecting OS/Apps/snake.icv, whatever that means.

I did download a Android antivirus and then cancelled it. Maybe it's trying to get me to reinstall it. Every now and then it tells me I have a virus but now I just ignore it.I have since installed AVG antivirus free.
