At least that is what the lady told me. She said her grandfather used to have a cattle ranch spread across this whole section of land back in the 1920s. The family let it turn to dust 40 years ago.

Canon 50D 18-55 @ 55mm ISO 400
F14 ss: 1/250

Thanks for looking. C & C welcome and appreciated.

You might want to level the horizon.

Excellent shot, the only thing I can see wrong is failing to store the original so we can see a better shot with the download.
(why is it we see so many straighten the horizon as the only negative comment ? , personally I see nothing wrong with it ( but them I've been told before I don't have my head on straight )
Pete

Well, if the horizon has to be un-level, then tilted up to the right indicates optimism (or an earthquake event).

Thanks for the comment, Bob. Actually, I looked at that horizon for quite a long time. I even straightened it, and then went back to the original. I believe it does seem a bit off-level, but that may be due to the hilly fields in the background, particularly on the right side of the photo. I know it's not so noticeable in the shot (the hills, I mean, as the hills do not get too big in Southern Saskatchewan).
But again, thank you for your comment.

Thank you, Pete for the nice comment. And just for that, I have downloaded the photo again, with "store original".

I like the shot. Gives one something to ponder about. The roof looks level to me. I don't see a problem with the horizon line. Am I going blind?

ebrunner, you had me going there as whether or not MY eyes had lost their capability for level detection. I was especially doubtful after the OP said the hills run higher on the right. So, I downloaded the photo, opened it in CS6, and ran a leveling process (complicated somewhat by the fact we had a sway-backed bunkhouse, but I used both ends for my test). Sure enough, it skewed the layer to make it straight, although truthfully, only a degree or two.

Trust your eyes? Yeah, why not? I trust mine.

Glad you like it. If you are going blind, I guess I am as well because I just do not see the horizon as unlevel.

Well, I guess that settles it. Thanks, Bob.

It could also mean that there was a hill behind and to the right of the bunkhouse.
